Tony sounds just like Beatlejuice
I am an expert on everything White Plains and have some corrections. The lead vocal of the song is Ricky Wolff, not Greenaway/Burrows. White Plains producer Roger Greenaway confirmed Ricky Wolff was the lead vocalist on the recording of "My Baby Loves Lovin'" in an official letter written and signed by him. The song reached #13 on the American chart, not 115.
Thanks for listening and sharing. My information is based on documentaries from Wikipedia and other sources so I’m not disputing your claim! Thanks!!
I'm extremely astonished knowing now Pipkins,Brorherhood of Man, Edison Lighrhouse,First Class,Albert Hammond,, even Frank Zander of Germany covered or sung Gimme dat ding. In german it one would say:" Gib mir das Dingsbums"
Yup, every song Burrows was on, was so infectious ! his songs captured the euphoria of youth 😄
Would have liked to have heard the whole songs...Maybe I'll post them on my channel if you don't mind.
I appreciate your listening. I don't have copyrights for these songs and that is one reason I have not played the whole track of each song. I had phone discussion with BMI officials a few years ago, and they explained to me that playing songs that are not owned by me, could subject me to a copyright lawsuit. I don't want to take that chance yet at this point. I produce video's as a hobby right now but eventually would like to increase it more frequently. Again, thanks for listening and inquiring. eric
There was a live performance of Gimme Dat Ding on TOTP but its lost. Pipkins was a sort of childrens TV show. The Pipkins Album with a version of My Baby Loves Love was a hoot too
Any country that has nukes should be banned from entering Japan.
Nice segment Eric! I’m almost 63 and all of these songs with Tony Burrows meant a lot to me growing up. An amazing performer who is actually quite modest when it comes to his success! I have just subscribed to your channel as well!
Thank you for that. I really love the music from back then. So many memories. Funny, I was just a kid back then but listened to the radio all the time because of older siblings always had the radio on. Mostly AM at that time! lol Thanks again!! :}
Ron Dante of Sugar Sugar was closest to Tony Burrow.
I didn't know the name of the band first class and I lost this melody I forgot about it and I lost this song I think when it first came out in 1974 got close to be a number one hit oh maybe got to the # 1 position I'm not sure but I love this song thanks for posted 😊
Music history intrigues me! Thanks for the comment! :}
Tony Burrows ALSO fronted TWO groups in the 1960s, The Ivy League and The Flower Pot Men and they BOTH had UK Top Ten singles,
You are absolutely right on that and thank you! I try to keep videos short enough that audience doesn't drift off and scroll to the next one before finishing. Maybe a reflection of my own short attention span! lol Thanks for listening!
What a drag voice of Eric Fry, ugh! He totally ruins this clip. Wish he just shut up. Couldn't finish listen to this. After a minute I only stayed long enough to write this. Be Quiet!
I saw the Top of the Pops "My Baby Loves Lovin'' video. Roger Greenaway sang sole lead vocal. Tony Burrows was on the extreme left on backing vocal with other members. There's a video of it on UA-cam.
Top of the Pops was a weekly music show broadcast on BBC TV, BBC One and BBC Two between 01 January 1964 and 30 July 2006.[1] The show featured performances by artists who had performed well in that week's pop singles charts, including the number one song. Shows were firstly broadcast live, with a studio audience, with artists miming to their songs. They were later pre-recorded, still with artists miming.
You saw it on Telly.
