I am a South Wales, UK based landscape photographer.
My aim is to hike, snap and inspire.
Diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis, I could have easily given up on my dream to be a professional landscape photographer, but my love for the outdoors and photography keeps growing and my motivation to produce the best landscape images possible, is higher than ever!
My Dream is to become a full time Landscape Photographer, while keeping myself active and inspired.
Any support is highly motivational, so likes, shares and constructive comments are always welcome.
I hope you enjoy the journey of my Photography and I can inspire others to follow their dreams.

In this second Vlog, we hike The Black Mountains of the Brecon Beacons, to try and capture the Aurora Borealis. This location holds many memories for me, so to capture the Aurora Borealis there would be a dream come true. I also share my experience hiking and photographing the trails along the way. I really hope you all enjoy the video! Photographer Worth Checking Out: Cormac Downes: instagram....

For my first Landscape Photography adventure on youtube, you find me in the mountains of South Wales, trying to capture an image I've been after for many years. Being a Welsh photographer, I wanted to pay my respects to the great Alyn Wallace, who inspired myself and others to capture our beautiful night skies. I hope you enjoy the video and images I managed to create. Lets connect on social: F...
Brilliant! Absolutely wild shots from both storms - love the different compositions and focal lengths! 🌊🙌
Love this so much ! I need to come on an adventure! ❤
Thanks Lau 😊 yes definitely!
Weren't you scared of being washed away on that rocky outcrop you were standing on. Great photos BTW!
@@andysuzierawlins5462 thank you Andy! I’ve been down on those rocks many times so I pretty much know when it’s safe and when to bail 😅 glad you liked the images 👍
Love the drama in this. Dramatic and punchy 🌊🌊🌊
Thank you ☺️
I was there on the Friday so we must have been very close, Monday sadly I had to work. You are producing some great videos
We probably crossed paths at some point without knowing! Really appreciate that mate! Means a lot 👍
Fabulous 7 mins of pure filth 🥰
Haha glad you enjoyed Alan! Nice to get some dirty music in now and again 😅
Where did you park the car? I usually park opposite the Story Arms or the large lay by a few yards towards Brecon, I object to paying £7.50 to park at Point y Daf, just come across your videos, excellent, been following you on instagram for a while, definitely need to get back up the Beacons👍
Cracking, fair do’s, and close to home as well
Some serious hiking and dedication involved there 🙂 Great video!
I really enjoyed this video. Stunning photos. I'm only an hour from there. I will have to make a trip there soon.
Enjoyed that - great commitment to get the shot.
wow mate for you first video this is insanely good!!!!
class video mate! I really enjoyed it, first video of yours I've seen so you have a new subscriber!!!!
Enjoyable and relaxed first video mate. Lovely final pic too.
So glad you enjoyed the first Vlog Trevor. Thank you for commenting 👍 really makes a huge difference
Hi Joel Great video and superb shots of the Aurora, well done.
Thank you Barry 👍 really appreciate you coming over to UA-cam and watching the video.
Hi Joel. Yep, it's a bit of a slog up to the llyn isn't it! It never disappoints though and a wild camp is always special. The two panos are stunning mate. In terms of the aurora foregrounds, I tend to capture them first snd blend in the sky images in post (just as we do with tracked astro shots). Credit to you for yomping to the other side of the Fan for your night shots! It was definitely the right decision. Superb images ! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Tim so glad you liked the images and panos.. it was definitely the right choice even though it nearly killed me 😂 I will definitely think about blended blue hour shots next time thanks for the tip 👌
Congrats on the new channel Joel. Cracking stuff. I've walked that route many times especially for sunset photography. It's usually blowing a hoodie when I've been there ! Good for you for paying tribute to Alyn. He's the one we've all got to thank for the astro adventures. Looking forward to more vlogs on here. Subscribed and followed your IG feed. Cheers.
Thank you Tim.. it’s been a great experience starting UA-cam so far so I’m really looking forward to creating more content. Alyn was a huge inspiration for myself and lots of others I’m sure, so it just felt right to give a small nod to give my respects to him.
Well done for perseverance, it paid off very nicely. Paul Haworth recommended your channel
Thank you so much Andy 👍 and I’ll thank Paul for the recommendation.
@JoelJohnPhotography looking forward to more content
Paul is definitely worth following as well
@davidharris4062 already do😉
Brilliant thank you for taking the time and sharing Joel
Thank you for taking the time to comment also. It’s really appreciated Pete 👍
Brilliant first video mate, quality. Just subscribed from a fellow UA-camr 😉👍
Thank you Phil. Glad you enjoyed the video and really appreciate the follow 👍 I’ll check out your channel now too 👍
Great follow up to the first video, some incredible photos too
Cheers Callum. Glad you like the images and appreciate you watching the videos 😊
Nice work this was in October right? Do you have a Flickr account to follow for the uncool photographers out here 😁
Glad you enjoyed the video. It was in October yes. The big 10th.. unfortunately I don’t have one. I should probably get one. I have an Instagram and Facebook page, and a a website but the website is down at the moment.
A great first video Joel. I too was inspired by Alyn and I tried and failed twice to emulate him myself last year at this location. I still hold out hope to get up there with snow on the ground, but not sure that will happen either this year. Subscribed after this video and enjoyed your second one from llyn y fan fach as well. Keep them coming as this sort of content is inspirational and highlights the great open spaces of bannau brycheiniog and its dark skies. 👌 Who knows, one day someone might be inspired by you, as we have both been by Alyn.
That is really kind of you Daren. So glad you enjoyed both videos. Alyn was a huge inspiration for lots of us and I’m just glad I was able to pay my respects by capturing a similar image to his.
Did one of Alyn’s courses in Brecon a good few years ago, was an inspirational guy, so sad he passed to young, miss his WITNS, blogs, Paul Howarth is definitely worth following
Brilliant video Joel! 🙌 Fantastic set of photos too - love the idea for the selfie with the headlamp pointing up, looks amazing! 🤩
Thank you for the continued support Josh 👍 it’s really appreciated. So glad you liked the selfie image.. as soon as I saw the mound I instantly knew it was the shot to go for.
Great shots of the aurora just love an aurora pano that captures the whole arc. When was this, the May storm or October? What a stunning year '24 was for the Northern Lights. 👍
So glad you liked the pano.. took some effort to get that image but so glad I managed to capture it. It was back in October. 👌
@JoelJohnPhotography aurora pano isn't the easiest to do either given the movement. Been working on it over the winter and been fortunate enough to get some amazing nights up here in the NE of Scotland.
What a night that was.. stunning images Joel. Great watch. atb Al
Thank you as always for the support Alan 👍 it was unbelievable that night.
That's some stunning aurora shots at the end!
Thank you so much.. glad you like them. I made some mistakes that night with my camera settings but I guess it was because I was filming also.. lots to think about 😅
@JoelJohnPhotography haha, the life of a photovlogger 😅
@@StarScaperPhotoyep something I’ll have to get used to 😅
Kudos for the perseverance to keep trying! The end results were stunning. Congrats also on a great first vlog. You have some storytelling talent dude 👌. Also I appreciated the whisky nod to the old Alyn vlog. Should do that myself sometime also 🙃.
Really kind of you 😊 thank you for watching. I have some way to go with my story telling and video work but I’m here for the long run and I’m hoping I might get slightly better atleast 😂 but thank you.
@JoelJohnPhotography looking forward to what's to come!
Great video Joel, thank you for the photos at the end. I look forward to the next video and I don’t need Hollywood production, your great as you are.
Thank you Paul 👍 really glad you like the photos and appreciate the kind words
Absolutely stunning shots! Really great video!! Keep them coming 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
So glad you like the images 😊 great to hear the nice feedback. Thank you.. plenty more to come
Another great video, Joel. I hugely admire your dedication to get up those mountains again a short while later to get the shot - living in the flattest part of the UK, that seemed quite daunting to me! What a night that was. 👌
Really appreciate the support! It definitely took a lot of effort and sleepless nights to get those images.. but it was so worth it.
Amazing ! Another lush video .. keep them coming xx
Thank you Lau 😊 plenty more to come 👌
Great video 😊
Thank you 😊
Brilliant Joel 👌 excellent shots of the aurora ! And all the scenarios!! 😘😘 Excellent 👍 xx
Thank you so much 😀 a lot of images in this one!
Fabulous informative video and amazing shots of the aurora 👏👏👏
Glad you enjoyed it 😊 thank you
Well done buddy and worth all the effort 👍
@@markhetherington5558 thank you Mark 👍 I was just relieved I managed to get the image in the end. Was worried I made a video for nothing 😅
That was fantastic, Joel - really enjoyable vlog and an excellent final couple of images, well worth persevering. Nice tribute to Alyn too. I very much hope you continue to film your adventures - I know it’s a colossal faff and introduces a lot more complexity into the night, but I think you have a talent for it. Subscribed. 👍
Thank you so much Paul… really kind words from you. I’m definitely hoping to carry on with these vlogs. You are right, it takes double the effort to create these videos, so it’s really appreciated when you get feedback like this one. So glad you liked it Paul 👍
Your video was truly beautiful and inspiring. As a fellow creator, I appreciate the effort you put into it. Sub and 👍48
Thank you so much for the sub 👍 the support is really appreciated and I’m so glad you enjoyed the video 😊
Great job Joel, images and video was spot on... always work on your audio, try and clean it up a little better, I'm sure you'll get better with it...looking forward to your journeys.
Really appreciate the feedback on the video Randy 👍 always great to get tips like this… I am definitely new to working with audio so there’s plenty for me to work on. So glad you enjoyed the video and images 👍
