Don't Draw Everyday: Do This Instead
Out of curiosity, can you draw jojos? Not as a request, just wondering if with your skill if you are able to draw like Araki’s more complex and recent works.
Hi there your works look great I haven't really had the chance to draw in a long time but couldn't draw that well before and I'm planning to challenge myself by drawing everyday for 100days to improve on so any advice
Hi, I glad you are challenging yourself to start back drawing...I too stop drawing for a while and challenged myself to recapture the drawing bug...I'm not a huge fan of the draw everyday challenges because it's to easy to fall off track from having one day you are not able to draw because like happens. I would opt for a drawing time challenge instead...Let''s say you wanted to draw an average of 30 minutes a day for the next 100 days, that would come out to 50 hours. So some days you may draw one to two hours, some 30 minutes and some you may not draw at all. This way to can adjust your drawing to fit whats happening in your life. And if you are trying to improve I would pick one or two drawing skill to focus of over those 100 days.

Great pep talk. I started drawing 2 yrs ago and only have a small area mastered because I been doing S.O.S . 🐢 has power
It’s a good thing you’ve recognized it and that you are starting to break free!
Dang!Keep working.
Really awesome video
Glad you enjoyed it
ooh man! I have SOS and Adhd but I am progressing fast but also struggling to practice the base fundamentals means i have to push a lot for practice, thanks for calling out.
That is very true and well said thank you
Love the topic of discussion and watching you draw!
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoy the video.
Is it frazetta way of drawing good for my vine charcoal
Yes, I would say so, especially if you are going a more painterly drawing style from Frazette's painting.
the best book
You need way more views and likes my man, this shit is so goddamn helpful you have no idea
My channel is still rather new…Hopefully I get more likes and views so I can keeping with more videos like this in the future…I’m glad you got some value out of it.
This is so sick and overrated dawg good job
if you keep this up you could probably get really big, that's amaing work
Good job. Could I get a part 2 with color?
Keep the high quality up.
Glad you enjoy it
Ur content is rly something else for the newcomers of the world of drawing. The way u encourage people to draw hands, it took my fear away, thank u really much man.
really liked this video, will try and check these out!
Do u know one about clothes? Or drapery or fabric folds
@@AUSWQPCV - The Art of Drawing Folds: An Illustrator’s Guide to Drawing the Clothed Figure by Kelly Brin - Drawing People: How to portray the clothed figure by Barbara Bradley - The artist's guide to drawing the clothed figure : a complete resource on rendering clothing and drapery by Michael Massen.
I don’t have any books on clothes, drapery or fabric folds to recommend at the moment…but I will do some research and test some out so I can recommend one in the future.
Great video 🔥

@@atthedrawingtable Hello i wanted to ask what field of art are you persuing?. Animator, comic artist....
@@chidiee Hi, I've mostly been focused on getting myself back into the practice of drawing regularly after years of not really drawing much. As for as what field, comic artist, illustrator or concept artist would all be career paths I would like to peruse. For now I'm working on filling any learning gaps I may have to create a stronger foundation.
Simplesmente perfeito!!!!!!
hi there, pls make more content. i believe in you
Godlike
Nice study
good stuff mane, preciate you
Thank you.
Beautiful 👏🏽
Thank you! 😊

Thank you! 😊
Relax and take in shapes, shadow tones and working off of lines, spin your magic, you'll soon will discover a freedom of expression which will take over and soon enough you'll be in the flow doing art that even impresses yourself. Just go at it with the sense you know where you're going. Take a map with you if needed too.
Beautiful work man 👌 And a good reminder for us all
Thank you.
I love that pencil grip, seems like a very cozy drawing experience, especially with the sleeve.
I like this pencil grip as well, although I was resistant to it at first. I'm glad I did to work to become comfortable with it as it has added good things to how I draw.
i really like this point. I'm new at this, and I've had this nagging feeling that I'm doing the detailed stuff right, but am starting off on the wrong foot. would love to see more stuff like this.
Thank you. It's very common for people to focus on the details and try to run before they walk. I would say most artist to this at some point (unless they have someone to guide them early on) and have to go back and fix their foundation.
I needed this reminder...I struggle so much with perfectionism and not seeing the forest for the trees. Thank you!
You are very welcome. We always tend to over think and over complicate things.
Doing gesture drawings and thumbnail sketches is a nice way to do it imo. Nice Bridgman studies too btw :)
Thanks. Yes, gesture drawings and thumbnail sketches would fall into this category. Anything that is not focusing so much on the small details.
I was looking for a video on critiquing my off work, but this will do.
🤩 "Promo SM"
Completely agree. Art is exploration and the journey. enjoy experimenting with everything. nothing is wrong when it comes to art. great video :) love the art, amazing forms!
Just stumbled on this video man great commentary and drawings! I think my big thing is trying to get the mileage which you cant really force without leading to burnout. Ive abandoned social media man but really miss the community aspect and hoping to grow with other artists in some other ways.
Well said! Thanks! Burnout is a big thing. I think adding unneeded stressors can make you burnout even quicker. It's would a good thing to try an identify the source of your burnout. It could from the added stressors and not do to over drawing. Social media is a huge stressor that can suck all the fun out of drawing because we fall into the trap of drawing for everyone else and not for ourselves. Trying to always draw things that will get you a lot of likes and attention, I feel can stunt your growth as an artist because you become more focused on drawing something nice to post then actually getting better at drawing, painting, etc. It also makes it feel more like work. I had to learn to for myself as well. As far as getting the mileage you have to play the long game. When I started back drawing more I couldn't draw for long periods of time like I could before. You have to build that endurance up. You can start by doing shorter sessions and increasing as you go. You also may need to figure out how to regain the love/passion for drawing/art you had when all you wanted to do is draw. I guess I will have to do a video on this topic to keep from writing a book in the comments.
damn the gesture and the anatomy of the drawings are head on I'm glad your still drawing, and thanks for your mindset about art. I do have a question what type of overhead camera that you use for your drawing videos?
I plan on making to video in the future about my setup but as far as the camera, it's just an iPhone XR. I have it setup as a capture device to record straight to my computer.
@@atthedrawingtable really?? then ill be here to see your explanation
great video. unfortunately, it seems outside the US it is impossible to get cheap newsprint paper. Here in Austria a 50 sheet newsprint A2 block is like 40 bucks.
Wow...that's crazy. I can get this pad 120 sheets (18"x24") for half that here and I can usually find it on sale for about $15. What does good drawing paper cost there if newspaper print is that expensive?
Gorgeously well done!😊
Thank you! 😊
So dang good👍🏼
Thanks, glad you think so.
😍
do you do the drawings(poses) intuitively/from imagine or are they done with references?
Sometimes I draw from my imagination and sometimes use video or picture references. I go to life drawing workshops from time to time as well.
I guess you needed someone to go bla bla while drawing.
Hey, keyboard warrior 👋🏾 😏
Good advice!
Glad you think so!
Good work...!! How old are you...?
You are really good! Do you do comics?
I don't do comics, maybe sometime in the future.
Your accent is ?
Why are you caught up in the superficial?
@@godsentjesustosetusallfree9859 Why does it matter that he wants to know? PS He doesn't have an accent, it's just a little lisp.
My accent is a mix between a Western and a Southern accent as I've spent half my like in each part of the country
