The British bought a BUNCH of Thompsons, but although they liked the gun itself, they were EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE, and were replaced by the STEN - which only cost them the equivalent of $9 each to produce - compared to the $150+ for the Tommy Gun. Unlike the complicated machine work that the Thompson needed, except for the Breech Block, the Barrel and a spring - almost every part of a Sten is stamped sheet metal, and VERY quick and easy to produce.
You call that little thing a hand cannon? Great video guys!

We are having fun
Beautiful weapon, love the content keep it up!!
@@kccarpenter3399 its a great weapon
Before Nazi occupation of Hungary, these were issued to both Hungarian police and army. They are distinguished by different proof marks. Also of note, the barrel can be removed without removing the slide (note the two notches on the slide). Frommer designed this pistol, but died shortly before it went into production.
The original was 9x17 or .380 acp. The Luftwaffe version is 7.65 or .32 acp.
@markmueller5508 they sure are cool pistols glad to have one to review! Yes the barrel is very easily removable
Great piece. Love those Cheetahs. Got a couple 84s and an 81. (PS, get that sound worked out, homie)
@christophereger1053 I'm playing with the sound this week I don't understand what happened
I just picked up the sibling 37M which is chambered in .380 ACP! Nice vid!
@domi4531 these are sweet guns very smooth awesome peice!

Bought a Type 38 Carbine awhile ago and was able to find ammo for it. Shoots nice and very light and easy to handle. Picked it up from Ahlmans Gun Shop over in Morristown, MN.
@@Strigon01 such cool rifles
Nice one, Austin.
I purchased my Model 12 Winchester at a pawnshop in Kansas when I was 16, in 1961! I paid $67.67 for it and wouldn't sell it for any price! It has a 30 inch tight full choke and a straight stock and the multi-grooved forearm. I was told the stock was a trap stock, but to me it looked like a 30-30 stock! I've done well in a lot of trap shoots, but I prefer to use it for hunting. It's put a lot of meat on the table over the years! There were a little over half a million Model 12s made before this one! I edited this to say these shotguns had a 2 3/4" chamber! People that get in trouble with them try to shoot 3" or 3 1/2" shells in them! They will easily handle any 2 3/4" magnum loads, but don't try to shoot the longer shells in them! For the same reason you wouldn't want to force a .357 magnum cartridge into a 38 special! You will ruin gun!!
@@kenfrutiger2471 they are one of the nicest and smoothest shotguns
Winchester didn't try to advance the field of semi-auto firearms, these two rifles evolved in a panic from the Model 1903 which in itself was their response to Browning's sale of the patent that became the Remington 8. They dropped the ball and thus could not break Browning's patent of such niceties as a charging handle! They sold abysimally and so, as a consequence are very rare... for example, Winchester sold more Model 1894's in one year (1948) then they sold of ALL of the 1905/7/10's in over 50 years of production.

If gold was 28$ a ounce and they made made +- 450$ a year they could buy 16 ounces of gold in todays money that would be 2600$ at current price plus minus x 16= 41.600$ (there was no income tax or or or or what u made is what earned no taxes involved)..........I guess gold and the price of gun held up well vs 2024 but the dollar is sinking is ship... (i am from Europe and i love Browning guns alot i own a few here in the Netherlands)

The 1901 Buffington sight in sharpshooting competition, the iconic bayonets, ammunition rarity, single lug smooth action. The inscription was too dark to see. Thanks for redoing my favorite topic on UA-cam. It was very appropriate
Good video. The audio is mono but the content is on point

Austin when you open up the range in new prague would you consider also opening a cafe eatery within the range/shop?
@marvd1887 so unfortunately no. The requirements with FDA due to lead use in the facility make this pretty hard to do. We will do food trucks though on the weekend in the summer fall is our plan!
What kind of shells are they hunting with? I’ve heard no steel except for modern shotguns. Although at what year they become “modern” hasn’t been made clear. Can they handle buck? 00 shot? #4 shot? I’ve heard that a magnum can blow it apart. Unfortunately there’s no breakdown accept for thousands of opinions on old forums, no videos. Maybe you should make one.
Also I’d like to add that I remember someone asking a similar question. He said hit shotgun was made in the 50’s and considered that modern??? But the technology in the shotgun was 100 years old. It’s so confusing
@@ssholed This a great question! So these were designed with Lead Shot in mind. 00 Buck would probably hurt this gun due to its age. You are correct there though that the were not built with modern powder and shot size loads in mind. As far as hunting some states still allow Lead Shot to be used. However, right now on Federal Land it is mandated as steel shot only. It would be awesome to have all this stuff in one location for sure as far as info but that is a huge undertaking. It would be something we could look into if given the staff and time for sure. As far as the shotguns being called "Modern" I personally break it down this way, for this Model 12 I would say it features many "Modern Designs" we still enjoy today on our shotguns, however this gun itself is a Curio & Relic and a Collector type firearm. I would highlight that to demonstrate a lot of our most "modern" guns are not that dismilar funcunality wise from those in the past. A lot of the upgrades are cosmetic or fine tuning older designs if that makes sense. This is all confusing stuff and hard to keep up with for sure haha
Nice history, but sell one of your guns and buy a new video camera
We actually did purchase a new one for our channel! We have been upgrading our stuff when we can! Pretty excited to use it on our next batch of videos in September!
Oh my serious to God!! With that bit of history and how the processes have changed along with their intended focus on safety and more, that is GREAT standing to have a Court Case to, at the least, try and deregulate Suppressors from the NFA! I am waiting 118 days for my Suppressor as of now through a Trust I started from Silencer-Shop. I hope I get it soon, I am done waiting for a SAFETY device!
@@kikibarrios1231 I certainly hope we remove them from the NFA
The 2A had the 2000 meter graduated sight and a 10 round magazine. The 2A1 had the 800 meter sight and a 12 (twelve) round magazine. My 2A1 was manufactured in 74. Great video.
Great history, thank you.
Nice Shirt!
Great video, Austen
Hey bud ........glad to see you are up on the tube..
Thank you!
Good video, Austin. Folks forget just how many subguns the Russkies put in the field in WWII. We are talking something like 6 million PPSh-41s, 2 million PPS-42/43s, along with batches of PPD-34/38/40s, recycled MP-28/38/40s, and Lend-Leased M1928/M1 Thompsons and M50 Reisings. Whole battalions where most guys ran burp guns-- something that gave food for thought for adopting the early AKs.
There were so many!
I also want one of all of them at least
just watched more of the video 6:20 answers the question.
Hello, i have one marked 1917 and would like to know if the tip of barrel is threaded on yours?
@@elcid6325 Yes that one was threaded! Some are and some aren't
I was waiting to get the spear in 6.8 since I already have the Scar 17... but they were saying that the barrel life of the 6.8 is only around 10k rounds. I have the MCX Virtus and the Spear LT and was going to get the regular spear, but now I might just hold off and see.
German engineers made the CETME Modelo 58 Thus the Spanish CETME C, licensed to German hence the G3. Love these!
Lovely rifle, I ❤ Lee-Enfields.
Very nicely done. Gotta love those Frenchies!
Steyr make fantastic rifles ❤ quality at its best🙌
7:28 "never made it to Iran" I don't follow your logic. Seems to me if that firearm had stayed in Europe for WW2 it wouldn't have been preserved in that condition. I'm old enough to remember when Sarco was selling those those rifles. The one you have was a premium level "unissued" with target offering. It probably also had a numbers matching bayonet that came with the set.
Just beautiful pre-war Model 12s, Austin. Canfield's Complete Guide to United States Military Combat Shotguns is a great reference to those used by the Army-Marines.
These are some of the nicest I have ever seen
@@2ifbyseatacticalThanks for sharing your knowledge! I picked a 1953 vintage one up recently. Solid old shotgun. Now, wabbits!!
Could you -- or someone you could recommend-- help me find some ammo for such a .32 Self-Loader??
That I do not know
If you are dedicated, you can make it from either .30 Carbine or 32-20 cases.
Beautiful rifle my friend, but that's an m1911. The 1889/96 has 12 round box magazine as well as a not having a pistol grip
Really good video, Austin. Best yet!
Great review, got mine in black last week and it’s a joy to shoot
Thank you for sharing this gorgeous shotgun. I really appreciate the history and evolution that you shared, this is great content.
Steadily improoving
Thanks for promoting the Carl Gustav! The quality of these guns is famous. The Italian Carcanos did predate the Swede in 6.5mm by a couple of years btw, although their clever simplicity was negated by poor manfacturing. On an enduring note, there are many thousands of 'elderly fanboy' 6.5x55 shooters and handloaders who can achieve similar muzzle velocities to the well-engineered Creedmoor. Tikka and Sauer and Howa offer modern, affordable chambers in the Swede. Good luck, keep posting!
Now that's a sweet, sweet gun. Just saying, we need to talk....
I need to get more haha
