I was walking in May as well, beginning June. No worries, it wasn't cold. One or two days with stronger wind, some rain in Galicia. And some early mornings with a bit of chill. It was warm to hot in general. And the heat wave arrived to Spain next day after we finished. You never know I suppose....

Hi Harry, thank you for the kind words. I envy your Camino in May. Yes, I know it's the Camino Fonseca. I actually wanted to title my films that way, but I figured people wouldn't understand. I wasn't aware of the history behind the name though. It's a shame I didn't know earlier; I would have visited the patron in Santiago. Buen Camino!

Hola :) It was 20 days from Salamanca to Santiago. So it's 25km per day on average. Buen Camino!

Thank you so much! I loved that camino. We walked it end of May beginning June. I made my videos every day along the way as a kind of diary. So technically not too fancy :).

Haha, to the right! But we were lost again not too much later. Keep an eye on the signs to turn left a bit later. Should be a path to the woods if I recall correctly. If you miss it you will continue on the road like us. Thank you and Buon Cammino!

@@caminare Thanks Anna, my wife and I have done 5 Caminos to Santiago and part of the Via Francigena and very used to keeping an eye open for signs BUT there is always one of two crossroads that you have to guess and hope you are right.

That is correct. I walked like 10 different Caminos and I have a licence of the mountain guide. Yet I managed to lost the way. That was the most serious case in my walking life 🤣. And there was no Internet signal there 😶‍🌫️. Later on, at the Monastery, one of the Sisters said that she was well aware of this tricky bit as we were not the first victims of the lack of the proper signage. But it was 2 years ago. Maybe everything is fixed now. Anyway it is a wonderful Camino (and one of the most challenging, I won't be lying). Enjoy every day 🙂

Hi Helene, thank you for the kind words. Regarding the weather we had everything. But right after we finished our Camino there was very hot until the end of the summer. So you never know. As to the number of pilgrims - I believe most of them continued Via de la Plata. And for me it was just about right - not too many but still enough not to feel lonely and to make friends. I was making these videos in the evenings (on the phone). I used YouCut app. Very intuitive.

Hi, thank you :). You think his backpack is huge? It is long but rather thin. It's Osprey Kestrel 48l, so in fact is not that big. He carries about 8kg + water. No, we did not camp. But I do consider camping in the future. Buen Camino 🙂

En Galice il n'y a pas de couvertures aux Albergues, il faut avoir des sacs de couchage. aussi dans la cuisine il n'y a pas de casseroles et de couverts, mais il y a des micro-ondes et des plaques à induction.

Buongiorno, nota: traduzione di google :). Sinceramente non ne sono sicuro. Sì e no. Il percorso è a volte difficile e impegnativo. Meglio andare con qualcuno. Devi essere in buona forma. Era un caldo mortale in agosto - evitatelo. IL cammino è ben segnalato, ma a volte non sei sicuro, meglio avere in aggiunta l'applicazione gps. Una buona condizione fisica è generalmente più importante dell'esperienza nella navigazione in montagna. Le persone sono molto gentili, c'è un gruppo del Cammino di San Benedetto su facebook, troverai sempre aiuto lì se hai problemi. Conclusione: percorso difficile per il primo cammino ma ce la puoi fare. Abbiamo conosciuto una ragazza slovena, camminava da sola con la tenda. Ed era anche la sua prima volta. E ricorda di tenere il tuo zaino il più leggero possibile. per me max 8 kg. I bastoncini da passeggio sono utili. In alta stagione è necessario prenotare l'alloggio in anticipo. Buon Cammino! :)
