I am just playing through it now and I love it! I loved the other two already, and the Phoenix Wright games, so this is squarely up my alley.

The game isn't a masterpiece but it is a great game to play, love the story and characters. I would give this game an 8 out of 10 because I have some issues. First issue I have is this game is way to grindy to level up, I have played jrpgs before and I know that this is a staple that is to be expected but my fingers were really hurting grinding those tooth monsters in the final dungeon. Second issue. The companions Eupha and Basillo you get way late in the game, especially the latter companion and I would have preferred Catherina as a companion instead of Basillo since we meet her in the beginning of the game. The two papyrus brothers could have been made into a bond that would grow the further you get into the game. Third issue. Kind of wish they made the races like Heismay, less human looking. My final issue, this is an anime fantasy game with beast like folk, I want a sexy/cute catgirl in this game !

Just bought this game and, I got the DLC so that, I can play with someone. Love this game so far and, I bought the other backgrounds and, just love it.

Watching some gameplay of this, the "tedious" echo menu was pretty much the only concern for me. glad to hear you didn't find it to be as big an issue as people are making out to be. definetly seems like a solid 8/10 type game, nothing too amazing, but well worth the time and price of admission. 😁

The game actually gets easier once you unlocked more archetypes. My guess is you didn't abuse buff/debuff enough. Each buff/debuff arrow modifies stat by 20% so you can absolutely trivialize bosses with them.

300 sub here! Metaphor was an incredible game, leaving me with a huge desire to keep learning more about the world after I completed the game.

I love the hard difficulty in this game, it is very well balanced and require players to utilize every single aspect of the game in order to win. Persona 5 was too easy for my liking and Atlus games normally are extremely hard, especially SMT franchise. And they also add a lot of quality of life features for players to make the challenges less frustrating. Allowing change difficulty if its too much for the player to handle which is also quite nice. I hope it would be even harder in the later games, consider the amount of customization you can still be too strong.

I was one of the other few excited about this release once we found out what it was. Detective visual novels(well mainly just this and Ace Attorney haha) is a genre I didn't discover until well into my adult years and as someone who also likes using video games as an excuse for additional language learning practice they're hard to beat. after last years Detective Pikachu 💤💤 this was especially a breath of fresh air.😅

Nintendocel here so I'll have to get my fix with Mario Galaxy, but definetly cool to see this game turning out well and being a success in the modern gaming industry. 😅

Great review! Thank you, I was finding it hard to decide whether I should purchase it or not. I find it looks way too similar to the Mario Rabbids Sparks of Hope, like almost a copy and paste with the graphics. I like my games to be a little more distinct from other games, and with such a short play time, I think I will save my money on a better game in the future :)

I loved 3 houses but bought engage and found it drew me in less, pretty sure I only got halfway through the game

I always used to watch my friend play it at his house, everytime i went to his house i always asked him to play it, and when he was playing he always found new secrets even tho he had 250+ hours of gameplay, i just ordered It on Amazon today and its coming Wednesday, can't wait to play it :)

The game seemed like a silly horror game based on an urban legend. It turned out to be something completely different. The game deals with difficult topics, such as domestic violence, child abuse, suicide. This is REAL HORROR, because the events that take place there happen around us every day, and we pretend they don't exist. The last chapter was so difficult for me that I had to take a break. I'm hard-pressed to find a similar title in visual novels these days. This game set the bar high, just like Disco Elysium did back in the day. This is one of the best Nintendo titles released in recent years. Amazing game. I hope Nintendo make more games like this.

Great video. I loved the previous two games that were remade and was definitely not expecting a brand new one in the series when Nintendo was showing the mysterious content about Emio. The ending was nicely tied together, and it was a great story. I really do hope they make more in the Famicom Detective Club series!

I just finished the game. I literally had no idea about this before. I just saw it on the store and tried the demo. I got invested in the story that I had to buy the game. I love the story, the animation is amazing and it definitely tugs the heartstrings. I already bought the Famicom Detective Club franchise so excited to play it :))

This game's writing rivals modern Hollywood scripts by a long shot.

Botw had the best zelda story along with aoc. You can't top those. But totk excells in every other way

I get the feeling a lot of people were reluctant to criticize it TOO harshly for a variety of reasons, despite them not liking it at all. when it was coming out I was basically trying to force myself to to justify picking it up but everytime I watched realtime gameplay "braindead dogshit "was essentially the term that immediately flashed before my eyes.

I'm pretty sure they're not gonna change cranky kong's look. They just wouldn't, besides the movie isn't canon to the super mario or dk franchise.

It wouldn’t matter if Luigi was afraid of dogs or not in the games. Luigi is scared of anything regardless, that’s part of his character.

So.... I finished Ocarina, then re-played Breath of the Wild (my previous favorite game) before TOTK came out. I spent a bit of time on it, finished two dungeons, then put it aside. One year later, I picked up again, and cannot put it down. This game does more, has more, and has become my new favorite game.

FINALLY a new video 😭

My favourite game released this year so far is probably Rise of the Ronin which did have issues like the empty, boring and repetitive open world but I had enough fun with the gameplay and story to get the platinum trophy. I liked Stellar Blade but that's as far as I'd go with it, it was pretty generic in a few areas and the gameplay was a little messy and sometimes janky. I haven't played Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Sandland or Dragon's Dogma 2 yet but I think I'd like them. I also really want to play Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree soon but I know that's not a new game, just a very big expansion. This year has felt very dry in my opinion in the sense that there's a lot coming out, sure, but most of it isn't anything that interesting. I hope Black Myth: Wukong is good, I'm also looking forward to Where Winds Meet and Phantom Blade Zero, whenever they're coming out. I'm pretty excited for Doom: The Dark Ages but that's next year and I assume the new Dead Rising remake-thingy-whatever is next year as well.

I would disagree on the best story part, Black and White's story and lore was absolutely mental. But I think it is the best story telling done in recent games.
