Door control is everything, no unnecessary flow paths
You want to put out the fire with a ladder? Usually hoses are used for that
Why are you playing music in the background?
One of the most well coordinated fires I’ve ever seen
How to remove the pickets? 😂
What brand of camera is being used??
I mean they order what they feel they need.
Why do we continue to see departments opening up massive amounts of ceilings and adding fuel to the fire? If you have fire in a confined space, KEEP IT CONFINED! make a hole, see fire right away, and see flow path going into that space? PERFECT! insert fog nozzle wide open, and pump it like a fat girl. There is more data on this operation with NIST the shows you can not beat the science.
This video proves two things (1) it does not matter how many fire apparatus responds to an alarm, if the firefighters are not properly trained the fire will be the bigger winner on that day (2) helmet cameras are useless in extinguishing a fire
I’m impressed at the amount of manpower here ! Good video ,stay safe guys !
Strong Work!
there not oxygen bottles there air bottles there is a big difference ( or scba ) or masks as we call it here in the fdny. fdny retired and my brother retired fro dpd after almost 40 yrs on the job he started in 1976 as a cop and about after 10 or 14 yrs became a ff
Born and raised in Durham😊
What a beautiful city! So much history and architectural diversity. I even saw your guys out there on calls a couple time. They looked professional and courteous. Durham FD is doing it right!
Lots of hose. Wonder how many are really used
Dep on the fire size and other things
That is Not how you deal with an attic fire. You open a small hole and eliminate the flames. Open it a little more and add more water as needed. You don't pull it all down and spread the fire inside and feed it tons of fresh air. That's called, Fireplaying
Great video. Clear and thorough. Thanks!
💪 💪 💪
A great example of how a fire department should work the fire ground. Good stuff.
A great job by Durham Fire department
That attic was full of hate
What dispatch software?
Prayers for complete healing for the L2 OIC.
Good work Brothers! Greetings from East Durham, New York !
Excellent video...very well put together! I wouldn't apologize for the oversights...only in a perfect world does everything go perfectly. Those with an open mind can all learn something from such vids.
Message received, bless all of you for your courage 🙏
The amount of smoke that exits those roof cuts is amazing.
Vertical ventilation is a game changer.
@@bajamedic I was on a commercial building fire, with the entire 3rd floor going hard. Smoke pushing out eaves, walls, wherever it could. The engine guys couldn't make the push to the third floor, due to extreme heat. I was out getting a new bottle, when the truck got the roof open. Amazing- all that smoke got sucked back in, and came roaring out the roof vent!!! The nozzle crew said the same happened inside- immediate relief from the extreme heat, and they were able to push up the stairs. It was nearly instant flow reversal. the whole top floor burned off, but fairly light damage below. Owner simply built a new third storey, lol. Not the first time it happened to that same building, either. This one was at 0 dark thirty, and had had a big head start. No auto alarm- a passer by called it in.
@@pyroman6000 hell yeah that’s awesome!
Liked, subscribed ad shared your video and your channel
extremely awesome footage
They ignore all the Visible Burning Material outside that is threatening the entire house and everyone in it, to go inside to fight it. Or did they go inside to Get Off? Then they go up on the roof to cut holes so it breaths better to completely destroy the home. Good job USA fireplayers.
you clearly didn't watch the video.... shortly after Squad 7's Driver bailed out the first line started fire attack on the fire that was clearly visible in the carport which is the fire your talking about
@@james131361 That fire should have been deck gunned on tank water before the first fighter even got to the house.
@@JB91710 Before a primary search?
@@enid0mom OF COURSE! Use common sense and logic and it is Easy to see that eliminating the threat is much faster and safer than heroic search and rescue and can be accomplished Before a entry team can get the door open.
Dude you have zero clue what you are talking about. Do you have any formal firefighter training? Or are you attempting to criticize on what you have seen through watching UA-cam videos? You obviously know nothing about vertical ventilation if you think it helps the fire breath better leading to destruction of the structure. SMH🤦♂️ I am a veteran firefighter of 21 years now and armchair firefighters like yourself never cease to amaze me.
Question, the first do Apparatus said heavy fire delta side, did he mean bravo side? Because i didn't see any fire on the delta side. It was all on the bravo side.
Awesome footage, that’s fantastic that you have so many cameras are so many crewman, Makes for fantastic after action analysis and training
He driving that rig🫡!!!!
its a good way initially , better than digging and burying a tyre or such thing if no anchor points but needs some better way to attach the tiedown straps .
Would this work as a portable beach anchor for 4wding?
@jarrod maybe
🤔
Would like to see examples of the other methods to which you refer, for reference.
It's very frightening to realize that some people don't know how little time they have to escape a residential structure, after any room has flashed. We need new fire safety education for the public.
Hey guys. If you get back to see this, check out the study done by some very thorough Germans. Laying your load line facing the leeward vertical inclination actually holds more weight.
Great work fellas and thank ya for a job well done 👍
VERY Professional Kick Ass Take Names Fire Department!!!!!!!!!!!! This is a prime example of a dedicated group of human beings putting their own safety in front of upholding their sworn duty to protect others. Stay safe and healthy Brothers and Sisters!!!!!
Incredible video. You are brave tough folks!

Thank you, fantastic job.
