Kahawai INVASION! Waitara Bar, Taranaki, NZ. SOFTBAIT and Microjig session on the Jetski
Got out and enjoyed some amazing conditions but couldn't get away from the Kahawai. Nothing but small fish caught on bait, took home 4 fish caught on softbait and pocket rocket microjig.
Didn't start the go pro on my best fish of the day, a very decent sized Snapper.. but hey thats life!

Urenui Bar crossing on SEA DOO GTX Jetski
Переглядів 2,8 тис.4 роки тому
Crossing the bar at Urenui has to be done 2-2.5hours either side of the high tide. On this day it was a big tide, we had plenty of room either side. (I've added a timestamp so you can see what times we crossed) Sticking to the left of the channel on the way out is important as the water covers a large sand flat on the right hand side. When the tides are big the river mouth has a big current, sp...

    Great video!, How do you cruise control at that speed? My cruise control wont go up to lure trolling speeds

    • @tee4222
      @tee4222 8 місяців тому

      There’s 9 speed settings, 1 through 9. You hit the cruise control button(rightmost button on left handle) and then adjust up and down with the arrows on the right handle. If you want to go more than 10mph, you just cruise at the speed you want and hold the cruise button down until you get the green symbol on the screen. You need to hold the throttle down to go still, it just limits the speed to what you set it at so you can depress the throttle fully but only go your set speed. The up and down arrows will now adjust your speed by 1mph per push.👍

    • @Jganley13
      @Jganley13 3 роки тому

      Thanks Brad! Sometimes I take a net and sometimes I don’t, I’ll leave the net at home if I want the extra space on board. If I drop a fish at the side I’m ok with it, but if I’m going out to target food for the table I’ll take a net to minimise risk.
