Extinct farm equipment rescue. The result is surprisingly COOL!
For this video we breath new life into an extinct and very unique piece of farm equipment. Our customer wants this very vintage Automatic Equipment tractor mounted, mister/fogger to work again so he can control flies around his horse pins.
We used some old and some new parts in order to make this unit better than it was new! What we didn't expect was just how neat this thing would be once fired up and running! Take a look!

38k isn’t low for a 78 pace car.
Hey, I’m Having this exact same problem with my s83p 1992 HiJet and I have the Chinese carb also. Where did you find the main jet you drilled out? The Chinese carb has quite a few jets and I’m just wondering exactly which one you drilled out. Thankyou
I just picked up a 56 Buick Century I was told when parked in 2006 that it needed a transmission rebuild. In the trunk was a trans rebuild kit. Once I get it running I will than tackle the trans. Thank you for your video, it gives me more confidence. I think I will get a new kit, to many years sitting in the trunk, only takes one seal to be bad and ruin hours of work.
Is that the valves tapping when it's running?
The only way to positively get from point A to point B is to tow your own tanker.
I removed all the clear with the help of my wife , heat gun , and duct tape 😂.
ATF is not what you should be using in a Pneumatic Air Cylinder non detergent oil is the go to for air powered tools.
I had the exact same experience on my ‘49 Chevy pickup and was/am so pissed off that I haven’t touched it for 2 months. Gonna sand that crap off and do it right.
Place a large hose over that vent, loop downward into a gallon jug to catch the excess until you can empty it.
I changed bajillion tires on one of those things in high school in my after school and weekend job in the late 70's early 80's. Looking for the bubble balancer in your shop, like we had. Balancing racing slicks was a pain in the backside.
Bazillion is alot I tell ya!!!
are the 4 head bolts the same size other then the 2 short ones coming up from the bottom?
I honestly do not remember. I think they were but cannot say 100%. Sorry!
A 12 step program may be in order
Ha! Indeed!
Not a bad addiction to have 😅
I didn't hear any kittens.
They got moved to the house! The kitten rescue/flip is nearing completion. Update soon!
Pretty countryside
Thank you! We love it our here! Thanks for watching!
O heard white vinegar also works
We haven't tried white vinegar to unstick an engine but we have used it for rust removal with mixed results. Go check out our fuel IH pickup fuel tank video if you haven't already done so!
Good share you are an honest man and it is good in GODS EYES. you will make her shine again. It will cost more work time and money but we live and we learn. Thank you for sharing. I almost bought this stuff for my 1987 Chevrolet Silverado R10. stay blessed,
Thank you very much for the kind words. If lost, honesty is rarely regained. We MAY try a spray application in the spring. Stand by for that update! Merry Christmas!
Turned out great… what’s the price?
It isn't quite done. We have some floor patching to do and we gotta get heat back into it. We hope to get back to it very soon then we can talk! Thanks for watching!
If you wet sanded it would look way better!
The fuel pump is more than just a fuel pump. It's also a vacuum pump for the wipers. Wipers run on a combination of engine and pump vacuum. They are rebuildable. There are kits. Also, there a folks that will rebuild the vacuum wiper motor that's probably shot. I have done both to great advantage. Really suggest keeping the existing fuel pump. On a separate topic, I was so amused to see the spoilers on the back. I have a nearly identical set that came (and is still on) my 68 AMC Ambassador wagon. We drive our two AMC Ambassadors all over everywhere and enjoy the heck out of them. Good luck
Thanks for watching and for your input! I'm thinking we will try to stay with the original (style) pump and you are correct about it having a vacuum function. If you have a recommendation on who to use for the pump rebuild please let us know.
[ have a 59 wagon and can find all the parts i need ign switch, fuel pump, glove box cardboard including body panels
Mind sharing some of your vendor info?
I had a 1960 Rambler American two-door wagon. It had a flathead 6 cylinder and a 3-on-the-tree. It was a very smooth running little engine and got 31mpg. Ramblers are great cars. Parts just aren't that plentiful. Great video. That car might be more than just a parts car.
Thanks for watching and for your input!
I’m working on my grandpas 55 furgoson and Ive been told acetone and atf work wonders so im trying that tonight and let it sit for a week

HI-Freedom Garage,--I have a "Dynaflow"-in my 50 Buick RIV.--what brand of 'Transmission-Oil"-do I put in it ??--I use normal G.M.-Transmission oil,-in my "Hydra-Matic"-50 olds--no -problem--So maybe the G.M,tran-oil -would be oK-??-Thanks for your help.

Not for nothing.... But with that amount of time and work into that truck you could have just painted it normally.
@@V84ever nope. To strip and paint this truck correctly would have cost our customer 8-10k, maybe more. That being said, future jobs like this will get a spray clear from a reputable paint dealer. Too bad this stuff doesn’t work as advertised.
@freedom1garage Yeah that makes sense.
I got the same results lots of brush strokes
We're so sorry to hear this. Don't get too discouraged. More hard work, but hopefully yours can be resolved! Good luck and thanks for watching!
I like to use Seafoam in the gas and oil to clean out the engine and fuel system, i even put it in my Harley-davidson gas isn't like it use to be .
Yup, that's a great way to keep things clean. One of our favorite "old school" internal cleaning products is Rislone. We'll be doing a video on that soon! Thanks for your input!
that car is a peach. wow
i would have drilled holes to access the original bolts along the firewall to allow removal of the entire dash with the skin in the event that a heater core or other required service was possible without having to tear the dash skin off....
Great point. I have seen that done. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
It doesn’t matter what concoction one comes up with. If an Engine is Seized bad enough DISASSEMBLY is the only Remedy.
We'd have to disagree with ya there. It can be very possible to unstick an engine and run it reliably for years. That being said, the odds vary and not every engine will come free. Thanks for watching!
Thoughts on pouring berrymans thru the brake booster vacuum hose to really feed that intake
Ya sure could. Depending on where the vacuum source is though, it may not make it to “everything”. Maybe we’ll give it a try one day! Thanks!
Amen old iron is the real iron 😮
YESSIR!! Thanks for watching!
some wrong advice there that is not a radiator drain valve and that ford sediment bowl assy has provisions for a 0ne gal built in hence the tube sting up from off you opened the valve 2 full turns when reserve was needed it was open all the way the correct ones are available.
Knocker loose
The end of the screen is supposed to be open, so fuel will just bypass it until it gets near the bottom of the tank? That looks odd.
@@CanizaM the screen is an important but small part of the system. There is still a secondary, finer mesh screen and separator bowl next in line. I would imagine the screen keeps chunks at the bottom of the tank from clogging the outlet. The particulates get separated out by the secondary screen and bowl assembly. Thanks for watching and commenting!
My dad had a rambler just like that same color everything.. my brother's and me. Cut the top off. We took it out in the fields and chased skunks until it broke in half 😂😂

@@WilliamDensham-j2h you can check the buss connector. I have another video on that repair. But it may be stator time for you.
Thank you for the video. We owned the same car 58 Buick Special, same color, except for the top was blue as well. I noticed you said no power steering No power brakes ? ours had both ! was it an option ? I remember "power steering" was written on the steering wheel center above the emblem
@@peterketchijian6989 you are welcome and thank you for watching and commenting. I do think PS and PB were likely options you could add to the special. Both would certainly make driving a bit more relaxing!
For future reference if you have to deal with 4 wheel drum brakes take a look at Muscle Car Brakes. They offer ceramic brake shoes for much more stopping power than part store shoes. They also offer factory style ceramic disc brakes as well. Supposedly using their ceramic 4 wheel drum brakes will make the car stop as good or better than 4 wheel disc brakes. They also have hard to find hardware and drums for older cars as well.😎👍
@@itseithergonnaworkoritaint7852 thanks for the info!
Hint I know you dont have a ditch but putting the fron wheels in a ditch or putting a floor jack under the and raising about 8 in you dont lose any oil or need to drain
@@alanmize5627 true. This was low enough that the little bit of loss really didn’t matter much. But if it were full and oil was good… definitely save a hundred bucks! Thanks for the comment!
I had a Windsor in my crown Victoria and it cost me nothing but problems but then when I put a Clevelanders it was the best motor I ever had in the Gravette Doria 123 motors before I put the 351 Cleveland in it there’s 351 Windsor is garbage
70's cars were hogs but the last of the chrome bumpers.
Pretty sure that car didn't use synthetic blend 10 W 30 for "decades" but you always do what the customer says.
Respect.
70-71 Torino's are the best looking Torino's!
Agreed!
Yes. I bought a used one in 1977 from the original owner. He'd special ordered from the dealer saying he wanted a car that would keep up with his state patrol cruiser. It had the cleveland with 4 barrel, tow package including the larger automatic transmission and cooler. No A.C. though. Man it was fast but really needed bigger better brakes then the drum brakes it had.
I want that Torino. Always wanted one with the stripes on the side
Me too!
