I think you seem to play too hard. My coach says playing fast and hard are just one bit different.

Great video and improvement mate. Don't think that your tennis technique is a negative, on the contrary, it gives you extra resources (like those smash blocks, passing shots and volley speed) that general padel players don't have. Question: I'll be visiting England in September for a few months. What's the best indoor club there? Bristol? I want to stay wherever there's a good club. Thanks! Hopefully we can play some day.
Thanks !! In Bristol you've got Surge and Rocket Padel. Then in London you've got another Rocket Padel (Ilford), Stratford Padel Club, the Padel Yard and a few others. Rocket Padel uses Playtomic I think. But yeah, for Bristol to have two big indoor clubs in a much smaller city is v good.

You are a great inspiration! I have a similar background, playing tennis for over 20 years. Have started padel for about a year now. May I check, the serve at 8:33 seemed a little high, did the coach highlight on that? I get confused if contact point should be belly button or hip height. Thanks!

when i defence, i see you slicing your backhand a lot, when receiving a good and deep volley/bandeja with good quality. This a bad tennis-habit and would make sence in tennis as you can use sliced groundstrokes to slow down the play (doenst work in padel as your opponents are at the net, and a sliced groundstroke makes a ball float high above the net). To solve this problem is quite simple: earlier and lower preperation with the racket (a little under the contact point with the ball). This will make you hit upwards at the ball, and either you will receive a slight of topspin, which will make the ball more likely to drop under net-height and will make a harder volley for your opponent (if you decide to hit flat), or you will be in a better position to make a lob with the low preperation! Hope this made sense, and can help you out!
It's crazy because I've been thinking about this habit a lot. Thanks for the analysis - defo something to keep in mind. Those floaty slices have an important place in tennis but in padel they're not really useful (unless you go for more of a Chiquita with it which I think still can be a good shot).

I know there are a lot of players that keep playing both tennis and padel, including myself, but only at recreational level, which is 100% feasible. Personally, I use 100% continental grip in padel, so that can't hurt my tennis groundstrokes at all. The only shots that can be affected are volleys, because of the different distance between your grip and the sweet spot. After having started padel I have improved my tennis lobs, esp. BH as I am a right padel court player and of course my tennis overheads have become more accurate and consistant and much more slicey, bandeja style!

Tu compañero tiene varias bolas que podría haber finalizado el punto o poner más apuros a los rivales y no aprovechó, su última bandeja da mucho rebote (demasiada fuerza y falta de efecto). Buen ejemplo de que defendiendo bien puedes ganar a una pareja técnicamente mejor buscando un fallo por acumulación
