I have both! I had the a7IV first when it first came out. It was great. I never had a overheating issue that made it shut off. I needed a second camera though. That made me buy a fx30. I bought the fx30 when it first came out. I couldn't afford a fx3 at the time. I love the fx30 more than my a7IV. I dont like the crop but it is what it is. I just have to expand my lense collection. I just bought another fx30. My son has learned to shoot with me and I wanted more camera angles. I definitely need 3 more lenses now though. I dont like my a7IV as much because it doesn't have a lut preview in it unlike the fx30. If it had that feature, it would definitely be my main camera.

It's wild because I've literally never had my a7iv overheat on me Event shooting 2 hour events nonstop. I actually found this video because I love the A7iv so much I was going to buy the FX3 or FX6 as a B cam. I personally absolutely love the Down sampled 4k image from the A7iv. I'm probably genuinely lucky then😅

I’m still using mines faithfully. It’s beast, never over heats, great image quality. I agree, the smaller sensor is a bit of a limitation. But being that I can control the lighting in most of my shooting situations, it is never posed a problem. Even when I shoot projects using the FX three as an additional camera. No one can tell the differencebetween the image quality of the two on the final product.
