You need to do what you love to do. Performance of any sort is going to work real well for you as a teacher. Students want to know "What have you DONE". My daughter sings with VSUGC and loves it. I was classicly trained 30 years ago and I love that. So what ever your love is, gospel or opera, do it!

I'll tell you what happens. The Awe Value. I've seen it so often with VSUGC. It takes a while for some churches to move though the Shock and Awe of these youthful voices. By the end of this night, everyone was on their feet!
