What is the battery thermal management system cooling solution ? Electric vehicle battery cooling
Lithium battery liquid cooled plates is also named water cooling plates or liquid cold plate.The working principle of the battery pack liquid cooling plate is that the excess heat generated by the battery is transferred through contact with the surface of the plate-shaped aluminum device. The cooling fluid passing through the internal flow channel of the device is carried away.
As the main energy storage device of electric vehicles, battery modules are the key components of electric vehicles and will directly affect the performance of electric vehicles. During the use of the battery module, due to the internal resistance of the internal cells, a certain amount of heat will be generated during normal operation, which will increase the internal temperature of the module. The normal operating temperature range of the battery cell is 15-35°C. If it exceeds 60°C, there will be certain safety hazards. The generation and rapid accumulation of heat will inevitably increase the internal temperature of the battery, especially when used in a high-temperature environment or when charging and discharging with a large current. , may trigger a violent chemical reaction inside the battery and generate a lot of heat. If the heat accumulates quickly inside the battery without enough time to dissipate, the battery may leak, outgas, smoke, etc. In severe cases, the battery may burn violently or even explode. In order to eliminate this danger, it is necessary to dissipate heat from the battery module, so as to avoid the battery core being in a high temperature state for a long time, which will affect the performance of the battery core and reduce the service life of the battery core.

but the silicone layer is a insulator. its better to use a thermal adhesive because even in this video one cell was still moving in the silicone system. that cell will degrade faster and without per cell fusing the pack itself will fail. this is a good product but without a thermal adhesive its pointless.

This is what Tesla uses and they have been very successful. However, considering that real-world Li-On cylindrical cells have thermal conductivity anisotropy, wouldn't cooling them axially with a cooling plate be more efficient just like Lucid?
As what I known that Lucid use the bottom direction cooling, Tesla use the side direction cooling, all cooling solution get the more heat exchange effecificy .
You haven’t shown us how much heat exchange has occurred, this is important the battery’s get hot 🥵, the motor gets hot 🥵 how much heat is exchanged. My money doesn’t exchange with just hype. Seriously 😒.

Is it called water because it eventually used for batteries that are cooled. Or is that what the aluminium is called in the industry. As I understand the battery cooling is carried out by air, liquid or a hybrid mixture. Liquid cooling may be the preferred term as it is not always just pure water eg ethylene glycol and refrigerants are also used.
yes, the cooling method is including air cooling, liquid cooling . Now more and more EV automaker are prefer to adopting liquid cooling for their battery pack .

I agree the lady did her best. Well done. Please to a follow on video. Place this battery next to the previous ones and may be one AA alkaline battery. So the viewer can see the difference. Give little table with dimension and characteristics of the three batteries used. It was indicated that the energy density had gone up. What was it for the first battery. Then indicate that the original battery was made by say Panasonic and fitted in the cooling tray that we developed in year …. Then as Tesla moved into other cylindrical batteries WE had to work with them to develop newer and newer trays. It appears to me that although Tesla is regarded as a US car it is made from many parts from many companies across the world. Good video Cindy.
