- ADRESSING ALL VIEWERS AND THE WEST YORKSHIRE COMBINED AUTHORITY - (1) How condescending can a video be? we're adults. We're not stupid, and know how to conduct ourselves with decency. (2) This video in parts contains factually FALSE information. Harassment definition : aggressive pressure or intimidation. Saying "nice" when clearly passing someone is not aggression, and is therefore not harassment. Liking all someone's social media IS NOT on its own a form or harassment unless backed by other behaviour. Just because someone may find a situation intimidating due to a power/size dynamic doesn't necessarily define the behaviour 'aggressive'. Clearly non-aggressive advances, in particular those that are not rejected i.e. telling someone to "STOP" are NOT forms of harassment. Whether these advances are wanted or unwanted is irrelevant. (3) Whether stereotypes carry weight or not, WYCA and its subsidiaries ought to take real care as in 2023 any form of overt discrimination carries huge penalties. 100% of the perpetrators and 0% of the victims in this video are male suggesting that this is the case in real life, and so is clearly not representative of reality. So saying someone is “fit” to your friends and liking their pictures on social is now sexual harassment? 😂 Most of this is just rude obnoxious behaviour, you tell them to get lost and go about your day. Do you really think someone who behaves like this will change because they saw a video telling them not to be a douche? Okay listen this may be a bad take but I think this is genuinely a mixed message, obviously dont go up to a woman a random one at that and say "nice arse", or follow one home, maybe not like all the social media posts if you managed to get her instagram from friendly conversation at a gig or follow her home to quote "put her in her place" thats rapey if anything. I’m sorry but that is a lot of rubbish, Channel 4 can continue to do exactly the same as what it does now in private hands but better as a new owner will have better experience in television industry. They aren’t just going to shut the regional centres and production centres down as they bring in income for the broadcaster. It doesn’t need the government to own it anymore times are changing and it isn’t 1982 anymore Channel 4 needs to compete with the likes of Netflix and can’t do that in its current model. So please go to the consutaltion and say yes to privatisation!
