Smashey and Nicey - Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse
The more they change, the more they stay the same...
Why is comedy today nowhere as funny as this?
A perfect summary of the inane bollocks you can catch on Radio 1 or 2
The jingle is so Chris Moyles! 😂 Forced to listen to it every morning on the school bus. Exactly these kinds of trendy people talking rubbish, disguised as surreal comedy. Always fronted by an arrogant person with the odd chart song thrown in!
Jimmy savlon, fucking hell, aint watched these for many years, cant remb this 😮 they were definitely trying to tell us the truth 😮
With all the stuff about p diddy, i typed a response about the bbc knowing about jimmy savile and gary glitter but hid it for decades. Then smashie and nicey came to mind 😮😮😮, saville got away with it because he did so much work for charity and was also a dj 😮, this was aired in late 80s90s, comedians like to tell the truth in jokes, kat williams been telling us about diddy for years!!!!
Zzzzzz
Absolute genius,I want to see smashie and nicey back today....bring them back from Radio Quiet for an early evening slot on Absolute 80's..
I still call Edmonds Noel Tidybeard
I still listen to A-Mumbling Around Midnight.
You can't beat a night in and out, with a takeaway, though.
"Cut!!" "The video is not in color! And you supposed to remove the "color" title! Take 2!"
I loved these two in the afternoons on Radio 1, especially their Cheesily Cheerful Chart Challenge. Biggity biggity bong, not 'alf.
I remember Greatest Hits Radio, back when it was known as Jack FM, used to play "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" seemingly every day. Only now have I realised that they were probably referencing these guys.
Queue 'Everybody wants to rule the world' and your mind will experience a time warp.
Just fantastic mate 😂
Even this sketch in the year we are on now would be protested against and banned joke, bring them back!!!
NIce bloke, Fat Bloke
with a young friend........
"A young friend" Careful now.
Brilliant!😅
Poptastic mate.
Quite liderally.
Danny Baker is much more insufferable than this
Jimmy Savlon had a interesting career. 😳
i think they're both in, aren't they?
1:46 😂
Dave Lee Travis "This Smashey and Nicey crap, is anyone laughing at that? Doesn't get a smile out of me"
That's cos it's too close to the truth.
Is there a cat purrin?
And a big hello to all you truckers out there on...... Quiet FM 😴😴😴
Although American I've seen enough Brit disc jockeys from the 80s and they nailed the outdated looks plus the banal talking
They were just trying to emulate American radio.
This is BBC 1...not in colour for whatever reason
Almost as shit if not more than the last lot, Smashy and Nicey.
Funniest thing about this is the accidental innuendo of in or out with a bloke who you know.
Dj Nice is quite LIDERALLY Gay
Well now It's 11 o'clock, and time on BBC2 for Play School.
Let's rock!
Wonderfully banal straight back to certain DJ's of the 70's and 80's
Joseph and today TV 😀
That can't be Enfield.... that litually is Evans
And a Bumbling Sir Dave Nice😂😂
When the BBC had balls
I can't go back to savoury now!
this show wasn't very good but a few of the characters were genius!
Poptastic mate
To late, mate...so let's here for the moss.... Sorry Mate, gotta intervene in a most interesting kinda waay!.....
FM
My mother went to bed happy after Jim said goodnight 😘
30 years on, and still broadcasting on 855Khz with 150watts from Villa Farm
Trying to out Jimmy savile like everyone else did but no one would listen
"Tony Crap". Straight to the point! Paul's mannerisms are based on him. 😄👍
Not at all. He's Gary Davies.
@@petermorris9818 There's some Gary Davies there, as he's one of those phony, cheesy DeeJays. Both Smash and Nice are amalgamations of several DJs like DLT etc etc, but Whitehouse's accent is spot on for the stupid inane mid- Atlantic Tony Blackburn.
@@DM-hh7wl agreed
Wasn't. it was Friday 3rd of march
B&W Effect (1969)
This is better than today's BBC Radio One, innit !
Definitely!
