I dont think the weathers that bad, nothing compared to what Ive seen on the Great Lakes. Looks like the ship is over loaded & taking on water. Look how close the waves are to each other, their not big at all. When you get into the big boys, they may be 30-60 yds apart

Not true. The built-in air would keep it afloat.

This is an open-hold barge. No hatches oer the hold. It is filled with a mix of sand and water. You can look it up on Google using the term "beunschip". Is I can find the time I'll make a diagram for you.

true but the holds have watertight hatches to prevent water from entering and all ships ballast during storm weather so as to limit the effect of the wind and waves. the water that comes on deck either goes back overboard or into the bilge which gets checked using the sounding pipe and pumped regularly. watertight integrity must be maintained at all times.
