Barcelona is a fantastic city, I lived there for 3.5 years. Look guys, just let me recommend a thing: - Be careful about the neighborhoods around La Rambla in the evening and at night. There's a reason why hotels are 'cheap' in that area. Those places can be dangerous. Barcelona is overall a safe city, but certain parts of the town has a lot of people coming and going, moving in and moving out, and quite often they don't really have papers either. I'd advice that you look into booking hotels/hostels in a neighborhood like Gracia or in any case somewhere not so close to the absolute city center. Enjoy Barcelona :)
