Not a bad movie. If only my country (U.S.) could see the way our prison system as well as the way we treat juvenile offenders as draconian and start treating offenders to a system of rehabilitation instead of retribution then maybe some day we too can have a prison system as effective and human as Norway. Sadly I don't see it happening any time soon though.
I agree. Instead of throwing youths and people who clearly have a mental disorder or are suffering mentally in to jail for year so they become more sick in their head, we use threatment and rehabilitation to the prisoners. However, sometimes in this country there are to much. A person who have been taking another mans life, shouldnt acsess a flat-screen TV, and comfy beds. Taking a persons life isnt acceptable, whatever or whoever who did it.
I agree. However almost all of the prisoners in U.S. prisons aren't murderers or even violent criminals. Most are in for non violent crimes. The only criminals who deserve pure retribution with no intention of helping them get better are murderers, rapists, pedophiles, and child abusers. Those people I say throw them in a windowless concrete block, serve them the same shit every day and let them rot in the dark. Everyone else though I believe deserve a second chance. All it takes usually is one bad decision or mistake to end up in prison. And drug users shouldn't be in prison period. They shouldn't be punished for having a disease. Then again though I'm just another average joe so nobody is going to give a fuck about what I think.

I want to watch Norwegian movie with Norwegian and English subs (both at the same time). Can anybody help me with this?
It is an island outside Horten in Norway, where they used to send young boys that had done something wrong - like stealing from the church cash - back in the old days. Now the island is used as a prison for adults, where they live as "free men", with small houses of their own.
One of hte most intense movies I have ever seen. It honestly felt like I had been hit by a ton of bricks or a car after watching this. AMAZING!
I like how people that probably don't even speak either swedish or norweigan are all like "hurrr someone said the subs suck so that means they must be terrible and I must comment on it". There was absolutely nothing wrong with the subtitles, and I actually don't think the translation is far away from what is actually in the movie. (Oh yes, I'm from Sweden, and I've seen it with english subtitles. It's well translated.)
I didn't see anything wrogn with the subtitles, and I'm swedish. They're perfectly fine.
