Home Haunter in Ojai California. Moreno Manor is the name of our haunt. Follow us from planning, building, up until show time. Get a basic idea how it is to run a small non profit home haunt. We also post DIY Halloween projects that myself and my family made for our Home Haunt, CalHauntS and the Ojai Haunted Hayrides, located at the Boccali Ranch Pumpkin Patch. We also love Ojai and is haunted history and sharing with you the ghosts of Ojai. I like sharing and learning so please comment and let me know what you all think!
ATMOSfx Pumpkin mapping
A long but hopefully detailed video showing you all how I map out my pumpkins. Take the trio set and separate them in different spots. This took me one evening to create. There are probably other ways to do this, but this way works and it FAST!

Giant Foam Pumpkins
Переглядів 31414 днів тому
This is how I made my pumpkins. Super fun and I scored the foam for free, so that was a huge help with time and money. In all these cost me only $100 to make, yet they did take forever, but WORTH IT! History on the giant eggs. They were a 2019 Easter Egg sculpture Exhibit at the Ojai Valley Inn, I'm still trying to find more info. I remember seeing the original eggs on display. Here are some vi...
UV Glow pumpkins

I painted all my pumpkins to glow in a UV Blacklight. I used NEON PAINTS & Rust-Oleum Fluorescent Spray Paint. Black light 365nm a.co/d/6uTHDWo The strength of the fluorescence effect is determined by the wavelength of the UV light. The 320-380 nm range is where most fluorescence is strongest, with a peak at 365 nm. Cheap UV lights usually are usually 405nm or 395nm and are fairly blue, while 3...

Lol that pup has claimed you, hasn't it? Like a shadow. 😍
@@BeeHus2256 she follows me everywhere 😝
Looks fantastic!!! Might have to buy that projector! Thanks, for going into detail , so I can do something similar!
Looks Great! Happy Halloween!
❤❤️🖤😍
I watch your videos for motivation but then I wind up watching another. They turned out awesome!
Thanks, it's hard not to get sidetracked lol 👻
This is so sweet and amazing, yayyy!
Looks amazing!!
Thanks!
Wow that was a lot of work. Well done ! They came out awesome.
Thanks so much! 👻
Wow those came out super awesome great video thanks for sharing
Thanks for the comment 🎃🖤🎃
So gorgeous! If you ever decide it's time to part with them Gothic Hills will be happy to buy them 😅 when we return from hiatus we are adding a pumpkin patch lol
@@TroyKristoffer Thanks. I'll have to remember that. I definitely want to hang onto them for a few years. I might have to sell other props to make room. 😝
Back to watch the rest of the video. I loved it ! I originally thought it was way to much detail, but seeing the end results, I was wrong. They turned out amazing !
Thank you so much! Yeah, they are giant but simple guys. 🎃🎃
Those are amazing, nothing wrong wirh a good long video every once in a a while to break up the constant short term censory barrage. Always a big fan of your creations and your home haunt! You guys are uber talented
Glad you liked it, and thank you. 🎃🎃
Loving the jelly jar as cheese grater tip ! I have tons of those jars around. Will be doing this !
I also used it for my demo dogs. It's a nice little carving toy. 🎃
Wow, leaving them in the sun 2 1/2 years sure saved you some prep time, lol 😆! Love when that happens !
You got that right! It was satisfying too. 🎃👻🎃

Cool! Where did you get the large gremlin? I see its worth $200 online 😭 did you buy yours online too? Btw LOVE YOUR COSTUMES!!
Thanks 😊 I got him from Trick or Treat Studios a few years back, as a Xmas gift to myself.
@@OjaiHaunt Awesome!!
These look great!
@@ToilandTroublesDIY thanks 🎃
Looks amazing! I'm dying to know about the vines! Did you make them? (that would be a loooot of time and latex.) I've never come up with anything that both looks right and can handle the weather. And the giant pumpkins: make or buy?! Your stuff is amazing, as always.
I did make them, yes lots of time and latex. They are old props I made for a Stranger Things theme I did a few years ago. I pulled them out of storage and sprayed them with the fluorescent green spray paint. Here is the link on how I make them. ua-cam.com/video/JLprJABvgII/v-deo.htmlsi=RQWOq07RMgjYE1OH And ua-cam.com/video/9Shxt11zh-c/v-deo.htmlsi=SvP967VfH6aNfzBD 🎃 I made the pumpkins and will post that video in a few days. Thanks for the comments.
@@OjaiHauntOh man, that must have taken FOREVER. They do look amazing.
Looks SO great !!! Like a fairy tale ! 🎃 🎃 🎃 🎃 🎃
Thank you! 🖤🎃🖤🎃
So amazing. If your stakes don't work, (I think they should!) what we do is cut hole in the lower rear of the the pumpkins and fill the bottoms with rocks. That DEFINITELY works. :P
Thanks! I done that with my other pumpkins. I have used corn hole sand bags too.
Looks amazing!
It is, Thanks 😊
🎃🎃🎃🎃Love it!!!
What type of fabric did use?
I used sheer white curtains I found at a thrift store
Tape? What did use to adhere
I actually use painters tape, it worked until the heat came. I tried push pins. What worked the best was Brad Nails, since they are tiny and long I just hammered a tiny one in and stuck the foam into that worked great.
Laughing & getting grossed out simultaneously 😅
I'm so glad I found your channel! Your crafting budget sounds a lot like mine, and I am a re-user for almost everything too! Great work!
@@janicecook6377 Thanks, I've always tried hard to save a buck and re-use stuff. This was a long project and so long ago. I still have one!
I love the green light in the background that really makes it
@@windsurfredbull1111 that's what I'll probably do for the haunt.
So I figured I would get a fog machine but my first attempt the unit gave off so much fog I was really worried somebody was gonna call the fire department so now I have a miniature handheld one that has a really good remote control. I will try that I am setting mine up in the front of the house for the kids to see on Halloween I think as long as it’s not windy it should be good It really does add a nice effect.
You are now a favorite person of mine and I have never met you... Stay spooky, I love it! I hope to be known as a cooky grandma myself one day! I'm actually watching this video because my 8-year-old daughter and I are going to turn her into Medusa this year for Halloween 2024. She has the most creative ideas for costumes each year and it is such a joy having these mama/daughter moments with her. She's going to love your idea and I can't wait for us to make it happen 😊🐍😊
@@Insightful_Hilarity awww ☺️ thanks. I still have this headpiece, I might make a short video to share what it still looks like today. This video was so long ago so I hope the materials are still available. Try it on as you build. (After the glue dries of course)
The cheap polyester white frosted shower curtain from Walmart can be ironed with low heat. No wrinkles.
@@Senseivader1972 actually never tried that. I have done the dryer on low. Thanks
These are so awesome! You've gave me so many idea's, so I'm attempting my own. I love Stranger Things
I'm so glad! This was one of my favorite props.
How did you make the fake nail heads? Just circle cuts of foam onto the top of the fake boards?
I spray painted googlie eyes with silver and then glued them on. I got so busy I never showed that part, you can also just paint them as well, don't get the super shiny silver get a matt paint.
What glue did you use?
@@davidsallot3527 gorilla glue, the normal one.
😂
Where did you acquire your lightning & rain video?
I made it myself. I found free to use green screen of rain on UA-cam, and same with the lightning, I downloaded them and edited them in my video software.
To late.😂😂
Best PSA of the day 😂
Oh gosh. That's great,
Where did you get that foam cutter that is neat?
I found it on amazon, just search hot wire foam cutter. They have a wide range of them.
Really cool!
Thanks, my favorite prop I've ever made.
I’m gonna tell you right now this is pissing me off! 😂😂😂😂😂 You sound just like me!
😂
That was a fun adventure. Beautiful idea to put them in the trees!
It's looks so magical 🎃 🌳
Your husband shaved !? Almost didn't recognize him !
@@m.maclellan7147 makes him look so much younger but I think he is growing the stash back soon.
@@OjaiHaunt Yes ! But tell him he is handsome, regardless 😉
Can most foam with water before applying heat for good texturing.
Most definitely!! Later on I learned about that technique and I now use that a lot!
Looks good however the foam is toxic and so you should use a respirator. For the hinges if the pins stick consider drilling them out a hair larger so the pins drop in and out easily.
100% This is one of my first foam props and I was learning and now I always wear a mask when I'm melting my foam.
Today it looks like they have them at the other one in Oxnard, just not the supercenter
@@coromar Oh cool! I also found them at Porter Ranch. So they are around you just have to search each store. Maybe they will be back in Cali since we all want them 😂
I always had trouble getting these in California ANYWHERE. It's so weird. Why do you think they're so hard to find here but other states have zillions?
@@TroyKristoffer its mind boggling, yet 5 Walmarts all 15 mins apart had them in Las Vegas. I think you just have to search and then decide how far you will travel. Simi Valley has them.
@@TroyKristoffer I'm searching and finding more in Cali, keep trying.
