Heavens no! I would love to help anyone with any information regrding books that they need. It is forever a learning process for me also. I like to learn as much about the authors and story behind each book, so I tend to go slow with each. If there is a particular book or author you like I would be happy to reaearch hidden :) information about them and present it for you. I really enjoy it. I have not uploaded much lately as I am preparing a series to be uploaded at once. I can also appraise books if you send me pictues and all bibliographic information. Thank you for being here! A signed book makes it more valuable indeed! There is a difference between signed and inscribed , however, and the latter is not as desireable, and does not make a book more valuable. It actually decreases the value. There are exceptions of course, let's say that the inscription is to a noted person or person with a significant tie to the author or story. Highlights, markings, tears, or any imperfections to the book eill slao decrease the books value significantly. A missing or duplication dustjacket can make the book ten times less valuable. A true collector will not want any book that is missing the original dustjacket in at least NF condition. Each book must be taken case-by-case. Even books by the same author, will have different values. This is prior to any inspection of the book. If you have a FE with DJ, the best way to determine its true value is to have it appraised by a professional. Many people believe that they can "eye" a books value, however, it is much more meticulous a process than most believe.

It can be tough deciding what is "valuable" when it comes to books. If a book has lost it's binding and is in somewhat sad shape, then it would be okay, or even a book that is not very rare or old. When it comes to the older books, if at all possible I always like to keep them intact. As there are less copies that still exist of older books, one they are gone-they are gone.
