Ok so my Mac would not recognize the light with a usb - c cable... I tried multiple even the expensive TB4 Apple cable.... but a simple usb-a-c worked right away... funny thing is same with my power bank and the light... my 140watt Ravpower battery won't work with the light via usb-c but usb-a to c the light works with the battery... odd but hopefully this helps you.

Using the samsung galaxy note 10plus. It's not possibe to balance the phone in portrait mode because of the phone length. Depending on how you choose to balance the phone in portrait mode, either the bottom or top will touch the balancing screw when executing a up and down shot. However, balancing in landscape mode has no issues.
