How do you unlock it once it's locked?
Very simple. You just turn the inside handle and the latch unlocks itself. It's an auto release. If you need to unlock it from the outside, you just use a pin like object and push the back end of the pin. All our cover plates have a hole on the outside to allow you to do this.
@ThelockandhandleAu How do you make the "drive in latch" sit flush on the jamb side since it's not a perfect circle? Could you make a video on that? Asking as a customer from the US!
Hi, It's quite simple. You drill a round hole and hammer the latch in (making sure to protect the latch with rags or similar). The serrated edges ensure that the latch does not move in the future as they cut a grove in when they are being driven in to the hole. The latch exterior is round, so it works very well. Hope that helps
That is a Gorgeous door handle! Looks like you guys have the same bore hole spacing on your doors as we do in the states. There is this new company called ReSecure Latch. Its a new piece of hardware that sits inside the doors bore hole, along side the door latch. It helps resecure a loose latch or deadbolt instead of using glue, sticks, putty, those ugly metal door coverings. Very useful in the home repair products.
I love the privacy button. Very cleaver latch. Do you know if they make this in a deadbolt option? I wonder if these are available here in the States.
Hi. We are the inventors of this product. It is designed to be used with our handles so it acts as a latch. If it was a deadbolt, it might be inconvenient as it would lock every time you closed the door. You can buy these from our website and we can send anywhere in the world. We have sold quite a few into the US: www.thelockandhandle.com/accessories/latches/magnetic/ Hope that helps
@ThelockandhandleAu Coming from my own Invention ReSecure Latch, many here in the United States love security (as to why I the Lord had blessed me with the idea ReSecure Latch), especially when it comes to automatic locks. Many from the opposite sex need a self locking latch, especially in the times we are in with crime. Maybe a unit that opens with a key from the outside, then once turned, the latch switches over to a Deadbolt that recognizes the magnet (pulling from the insert you guys have) then, throwing the deadbolt closed (so just in case the person forgets to lock it). The turn dial (handle on the inside) will already show in the locked position.
So sorry to hear you have that much crime there. There are locks on the market that self lock and they were popular until a few decades ago as many people would lock themselves out if they forget to take a key with them. Digital locks overcome this problem as they self lock but you don't need a key to unlock them. Also a deadbolt is not a very strong lock as all it takes is a kick to the lock area and the jamb usually gives way. Thanks for your thoughts though.
