I hope this video helps you to remove your fan and get it cleaned. A clean fan is an efficient fan.

Power setting needs to be lower, or the speed setting needs to be higher, which would give you the same results. Also, soap 'detergent' can release toxic fumes from the chemicals used in the products.

I've been using this hack for a few years and I find it works well with dollar store dish soap without letting it dry. I use both Epilog 40W and Trotec 80W CO2 lasers. In my experience, applying the soap and rinsing afterward is faster and much less hassle than weeding the masking paper. I also find that commercial available acrylic polish will remove the "fogging" as well and will also remove any other small scratches on the acrylic.

The laser vaporizes the acrylic, assuming this is cell cast acrylic. It's the vaporized acrylic being blown around you are seeing. If you were to do the same test with almost no air assist the amount of acrylic on the surface would be reduced, but the engravings would not look as white with contrast because it is the air assist that is rapidly cooling the vaporized acrylic and gives it the white color. Dawn is the only type of soap you can use because other soaps have perfumes in them that are flammable.

I just received my Mira 7 I'm getting a lot for smoke/smell and unfortunately I have my laser setup in my home office. Moving it outside isn't an option. I have the vent setup and it's about 3' from a window that I've vented out of. Would adding the compressor help with clearing the smoke and reduce the smell? I've only made 5 test cuts on 1/8" plywood, but my main focus with be leather patches and from what I understand, leather smokes a lot.

Hi Taylor! I'm excited about your Mira 7! Its a great machine! Adding a compressor will not reduce the amount of smoke that is being generated from the cuts/engrave... the compressor is used more for cleaner and deeper cuts.. .You will have to investigate using a different method to exhaust your smoke. I am using the built in exhaust fan that came with the MIRA 7, I am happy with the sound level and its ability to exhaust the smoke. However other people use other exhaust fans like the Cloudline 6 fan to their machine. I dont know if it works any better than the stock exhaust fan... Good luck with your Mira 7.. there is much more to learn... I am still learning... Thanks for watching...Rico

What did you do with the 2 extra wires (white and red) ?

Thanks for watching.. much appreciated! The red and white wires on that end are not needed as it draws power from the other end of the mini controller. So I just cut them off. Hope this helps. Rico

When my MIRA comes in January, I'm interested in Map. And stadiums look very cool. the way you integrated the orange. Do you by a commercial file so you can monetize it. From someone who has a license to sell the designs?

Hi John, Glad your MIRA is coming in January! You will love it! I love my Mira 7! I make my own files. I line drew the stadium line by line. It takes a while but once done..its yours!! Very cool. Are you able to take advantage and sell or giveaway the final product and what is the Labor time on something like that.

@@johnmccarthy2545 hi John, thank you so much for watching the short video and making a comment! I really do appreciate it. I have made a total of three of these so far and will be selling them at my craft fair tomorrow! Just getting feelers to see if they will sell! They look really better in person! These are small pieces 8 x 10! I hope I get a few sales tomorrow! But we will see. It takes about 4.5 hrsto complete one of these! Have a great day! Rico

@@TheExtremeElementz yes! I do agree it does add a pop-up color. However, I was out of red and had to improvise with this cranberry red that I use. I have since bought some other brighter, primary colors for my pigment, and I will use those on the next one! Good luck! Thanks for watching.
