I am so disinterested in the Switch as a console since I don't play games anywhere but my home so the portability does nothing for me, plus Nintendo makes me vehemently angry, but I MIGHT be there for Switch 2. The idea of playing Xenoblade Chronicles X at a good resolution and framrate got me a little excited. Would I buy a whole console for 1 game? Shiiiiiit maybe.

Still gimmicky, now easier to break with this weird iphone-esque joycon connectors. The switch was never going to be a powerhouse, and it will never replace your PC unless you want to do jailbreak it and put linux on there lol

I'm really interested to see how well games like FF7R will run on this thing. If the Switch 2 truly is that powerful we are in for a good time these next 5-6 years. That opens the door for so many 3rd party games to come to Nintendo but also means the scope of first party games can become bigger while still keeping that charm Nintendo games have. I'm so interested to see what they've cooked up with the next 3D Mario for example. If Bowser's Fury is anything to go by, having the world expand as you progress opens up the possibilities of exploring mechanics and gimmicks that might not have been possible on Switch 1.

im actually quite excited for the new switch, given the fact that I too have the OG switch model however I dont have the joycon issues. Maybe I dont play as much or possibly dont play games like a sweaty player lol but over all I'm excited for what new feature we might get to see soon!

switch 2 need minimum 120hz

I have a brand new Splatoon 3 Pro controller that I managed to snag for 15 dollars works with the switch 2 lol. On ps5 pro I don't think it's a pssr mode for unpatched games. It's the same thing as the ps4 pro boost mode, the enhanced image quality for ps4 games is only a sharpening filter for ps4 games that run at 1080p ONLY. So lots of 3rd party launch era games will benefit from this the most. I do hope the switch 2 will be more powerful than the steam deck and around the same level as the rog ally. It will most definitely be 400-500 USD.

I'm looking forward to what Nintendo has to offer with the Switch 2. All I really want out of it is backwards compatibility and stronger performance, which already feel like guaranteed additions. Never really thought about backwards compatibility in terms of controllers, but I would like that too because controllers are getting expensive nowadays. Other than that, I'm curious to see what games will launch with this system. The Switch's launch was okay, but BOTW being the only first party game was kind of limiting. Granted, MK8D followed shortly after but still. I definitely feel like a 3D Mario is a high possibility since it's been so long since Odyssey, but only time will tell. Enhanced versions of existing games through backwards compatibility would probably be enough for the first few months, so maybe Nintendo would be light on new games initially until we hit the holidays. Looking forward to more discussion videos, man. I know your job has taken most of your time, so just make sure to take care of yourself.

Great video! I is it got the RG Cube (Android) so I could go up to GameCube and PS2. I’m not mobile but my arcade units (3) are upstairs and I wanted something I could use at the end of the day after I was laying in bed … and these are great for that. Doing a few runs on those old school games like SSX tricky, Tony Hawk, Wave Rider or Spiderman is a blast and a great way to unwind.

Hey man. I appreciate your sentiments here. I'm an artist, trained graphic designer and I often work with mixed media. Basically I fk with anything. I even tried my hand at woodworking and came out with some solid projects. RN I have an RG35XX and an RG35XXH. I even bought a used GBA SP off ebay and swapped the screen, buttons and case. I then bought some games and refurbished the labels and cases on some of them (I have a solid brass case for Link to the Past/4 swords). I love my little custom SP. But I love the RG35XXH as well. I can't be bothered with in game purchases or KDR, or Steam, or Discord. Aint no body got time for that.

I love mine! Been intro the retro gaming scene since the mid 2000's, still own my old GP2X which played SNES, Genesis, some mame, much CPS on 2 AA batteries. I got the RG351V woodgrain just over 3 years ago, the Odin bout 3 years ago, RP3+ 6-7 months after and 3 months ago I picked up the 40XXV. I'm 42 and my eyesight isn't doing that well in the past few years, let's say the screen on the 351V and RP3+ is a tad too small compared to when I originally got it. Take it from me, when you reach your 40's, things change, QUICK! But the Atari 2600, NES, SNES, GB, GG that was my jam, then I discovered PC gaming in the mid 90's with the internet and yeah, that's it! lol! Glad you discovered these handhelds! Yes, i have around 35 retro handhelds. I love them. Also have a SteamDeck, ps5 and switch but mainly play my ps5 (via ps portal) or my odin 2 or Retroid Pocket 5.

I got sold on a tiktok ad and pulled the trigger on a rg35xx+ I said $65 let's see if I actually play it. And holey hell it's been 2 months and I've been playing it so much. It goes everywhere with me and I can spool up 20 min of final fantasy 7 while on the subway or an Uber. Like you i quickly realized theres a place for the small pocketability emulators. So I just ordered the retroid pocket mini, so I can play up to ps2 games and have joysticks. I highly recommend anyone considering this. Start with a cheaper $40 system and see if it takes over your day to day

I don't like to play on devices I work with. As an adult It helps me set aside time and space to play

Man, this is a great analysis and summary of exactly how I felt about getting one of the retro handhelds. I got the Miyoo mini but any of them are good and fun. All my buddies love it when I take it out also.

I have multiple handheld emulators or official handhelds and i love them and with the emulators having one or two is perfect and you don’t really need more than that as long as it can run the games u are wanting to play. Also amazing vid looking forward to seeing what else you might post.

JRPGs are perfect for the handheld format. It's why Pokemon popped off on the Gameboy. there just certain types of games that are better in how 'pick up & play' a handheld is. something that you can play for 30 minutes and then move on. meanwhile for console or PC, i associate that with something more 'premium'. like youll sit down and being putting a LOT of hours into it all in one go. ... which as you said, with work it's gonna be rare to do so. handhelds truly be that daily driver instead.

Can't decide between that one and the horizontal option. Actually the horizontal one is way cheaper for Ms but idk, I have a horizontal 3.5 inch screen and I don't really feel good with it

I have a homebrew 3ds for 3ds/ds games, but Ive been using my anbernic alot to play GBA games recently. I love mine. You hit the nail on the head, easy to play when you have 30 mins. Great video brother man!

Agree to everything you said. Personally haven’t been playing for about 12 years since the time after collages is packed with ton of „no spare time" for anything. And somehow i was not missing the gaming itself but at the same time I always felt that gaming is still a part of my life even if it wasn’t. …So what happened? I got a RG35XX H some weeks ago and yes you are right it makes a lot of fun to grab the handheld for some minutes and to enjoy just the game without any distractions.

Dedicated devices are the way to go. I can't get into phone gaming because I'm constantly watching that battery. I'd need a separate phone for downloaded media and gaming that I wont care about if the battery starts getting low or straight up dies, you do that and you'll probably want a controller add on too. That add on will cost you as much as one of these Anbernic handheld too, so there ya' go! AND it can play music and videos. Been eyeing that same model Anbernic you got there too, looks good. ✌

this is my favorite handheld. it's fucking amazing. made me stop doom scrolling and pick up again other stuff like readin books etc just because i didn't care about my phone anymore

I found the best thing to emulate is the Steam Deck! Like how the trackpads are peeeerfect for emulating Wii's pointer, can plug into a monitor and use the deck itself like a Wii U controller, can display both DS screens side by side, and i mean, do i needa say why it feels good for Switch games? xD
