Hi. Welcome back to the garden. We have reached the end of another gardening season. It has been fun. Walk with me through the garden to take a look at our David Austin Roses, some are still in bloom while Knock Out Roses are going strong. Hey is the lady of shallot shrub or the climber? I really love the way your plant is positioned and was wondering if you did something to mold it like that maybe?
@@memester1963 Hi.Thank you so much. This Lady of Shalott is a shrub. I prune them back to about 2 feet in the spring. I find light pruning is necessary throughout the growing season to maintain her height. ❤️🌹🌹🌹
Absolutely loved watching this! The 'Blue Girl' rose is such a beautiful variety, and your transplanting tips are incredibly helpful, especially for early fall. Hi Naomi. Love your garden. Q for u. My DA roses are own root and 6 months ago. They are still tiny but some already have black spots from the rains. How long do they take to grow. Spent a lot of money on these roses and I’m thinking to myself why did I put so much money on them when I could have gotten mature tea roses for a fraction of price. They are blooming and doing well. Thought?
@@annann-fn2zi Hi thanks so much for the kind comment 😊. Own root DA roses are babies when we get them in their 2 quart containers. I have found that they usually spend their first season in the ground developing a strong root system and settling in. This is great and that is what you want them to do. By their second spring they should start putting on a lot more top growth. In their 3rd season they become rock stars 🤩 🌹🌹. Growth will vary of course based on the specific variety, but this is usually what you can expect. Nice Naomi. A job I’ve been dreading for so long. I missed last winter due to injury and the “wild flowers” have gotten a total grip. This winter I’m determined to thin out much of the beds and fill out the empty ones. :)

Hi Naomi, I think your hydrangeas will be fine. The blooms just burnt in our 90 & 100 degree we experience. Cut them back for next season 😊

Your Little Hotties will be fine. They're pretty tough. The will look bad for the rest of the season but will come back beautifully next year😊
Hi garden friend, welcome back I have been missing you. Your roses are beautiful. In reference to your Little Hottie hydrangeas, do a scratch test to see if there is any green. If there is green your hydrangeas are still alive. I think they are ok. Again welcome back.
