the wedge crew is not surfers and bodyboarders ! they are bodysurfers and were occasionally kneeboarders. the blackball was changed from something for safety to a way for the bodysurfers to have a safe space . a reaction to the increasing numbers of bodyboarders changed to a no flotation device rule based on a time period .without a way to control the dangers of increasing numbers of hardboard surfers the wedge is morphing into a surfing break due to the rise of shorter boards and social media presence. a dangerous situation with no means to regulate it .
@@XxmattitudexX I agree with everything! Wedge crew definitely started with mainly bodysurfers but I would argue that quite a few surfers/bodyboarders are part of it now as well :)
I shot at the Wedge after Trestles on 7-16, huge surf, some were 12 ft. A-Frames, unreal...
