Why didn't he need what I thought was a counter balance on the last lift? I thought they held that piece at that specific height and distance to balance the crane while they undid bolts.
He did, just used a different one (some metal basket with whatever inside). It's faster to use the next tower section in line as counterweight, but obviously can't do that when installing the last one.
it's been here since 2007... what other "mundane" engineering secretes I missed out on?.. PS my hair went white I've seen the "slight" rightward inclination at 0:56-0:58...

Good question... They probably wear an adult diaper just in case, but climbing up and down the crane takes "only" 2-5 minutes depending on the height.
