Hey!!!!!!! Nice job ladies.
Highest of Seven Hills… FAMU!
This was an amazing podcast! It was nice hearing from the Allen family triathlon duo! When I was getting my certification (as a swim teacher) I learned that 64% of African-Americans have little to no swimming abliity. So, Uncle Clement I am very happy that you conquered your fear and that your swimming skills and confidence improved. I loved how Jamila talked about black women and hair because sometimes hair is the reason some black women avoid swimming, triathlons and exercising in general. I hope more people like us join the swimming and triathlon community because it is such a rewarding experience that people can continue forever.
Excellent interview! I enjoyed watching. I couldn't help but think of my oldest daughter who is a Certified Water Safety Instructor (Swim Teacher). I remerber changing her hair routine to natural hair styles only so she could swim. I said never let your hair stop you from doing anything. Thanks to all three of you for sharing. I learned at lot about something I have no plans to ever achieve, no racing for me. 😂
I'm so proud that you share this time with your daughter.
Just found you! Thank so much for taking the time on this channel! 🙏🏽
