She looks to be in good shape. Does she still run, at least well enough for celebratory parades and such? Just curious, my hometown volunteer department had a Ford chassis engine similar to this gem for the longest time. I THINK they finally sold it to a collector in 1998 or so, it still ran and could still respond as a backup or reserve engine.

Japanese knotweed root is a specific for treating lyme disease. (See works by Stephen Harrod Buhner for lyme and other herbalists for general.) Knotweed is sold as Resveratol in capsules for $$$. Young shoots can also be eaten. Hopefully this is incentive for control. The insect pests that control Japanese knotweed in Asia simply do not exist here.

I discovered it when we bought our home 25 years ago, and started trying to control it about 12 years ago. As I have become more disciplined in getting as much root as possible, I have been getting it significantly reduced. Although, I have not found it to grow, where I let the plants I pulled up, dry.
