So I rewatch it. Watching after getting sleep and not being exhausted from a long convention day - I have to say the movie was worse than I remembered. As an average movie with no source material it is below a 5. The writing killed it. So much over-exposition all over the place. They even explained things multiple times to justify other characters knowing it, or to remind the audience. It's hard to enjoy a movie that is treating the audience like idiots. Show don't tell is such a basic scriptwriting 101. I understand sometimes you need exposition with limited time, but it was overkill. SPOILERS BELOW Light was not a likable character. I guess that could be used to make you side with L, but L is introduced too late by that point, and not given much likability either. He's just a genius without any justification or proving actions. Also a terrible undercover agent. Yes, keeping riding around in a limo and flashy jets. He also calls Light bright 😑 On what basis. They were trying so hard to make it seem cool and hip for teens.... Cool random lazor gun bro. Wow rad random chase with parkour parkour. I like how L's agro driving ends up leading him right to Light running on the street. Most teens don't like a movie that is disrespecting them and treating them like idiots either. Also suddenly he didn't need a first and last name for Watari? In the original that's just a code name anyways. How convenient he dies right before the reveal of L's name. Some corrections from my video: Kira was referenced and Russian and Keltic not Latin (I missed remembered). Also Light doesn't choose to stop killing when he is followed, that's what he wants to do, and then MIA ruins that plan by killing all the agents. Still shows my point of his low intelligence.

Definitely agreed with most of your points. I definitely fangirled when I saw Ryuk, his voice acting was incredible. My biggest problem with the film? No potato chip scene :( not even a nod to it, but maybe that's for the best

This was a great video discussion Roxy. A friend of mine actually saw the guy get tackled by the police and I'm thankful that nothing horrible happened when this incident occurred. Other than that, you're too right about peace bonding checks and how PCC should've been following the prop rules. The impact of this incident made so many people pissed off and even PCC forced a lightsaber vendor booth to pack their things and get out of the con with no refund from what I've heard.
