Fantastic effort man!!
What a great video man! It's so much morr meaningful without the training wheels! Solo to boot. Congratulations!
Very cool. What state?
I solo hunt alot and I've found making a ladder type sled and packing light to the top and heavy to the bottom makes a world of difference when packing out the whole animal that said I'm also 6'5" 410 lbs and I'd rather make one hellacious trip and power through than walk my big ass up and down mountains any more than I have to lol
You the fucking man!
Do you shoot instinctive or gap?
Harap x ada pembaziran..bwa keluar semua hasil buruan
Sweet shot! Looks like fun
I have bulls passing by my tree stand every year at 10 , 20 yards .. the Bull tags are only for the out of staters if you try to get your second choice cow tag forget it... I've learned don't ever try for a bull tag you want draw for anything.. ever!!!.. I get a cow tag every year because I don't add a bull tag for first or second choice Wooden bow and arrows.. I get a cow every year it's better than nothing!!! Colorado
Dude, this video got me so fired up- your spot looks like the spot I'll be hunting, and it all felt real. 2 weeks!
Did you have any trouble with meat spoilage? Awesome hunt!
Very cool hunt!
Good job man!! And nice recurve! What make and model is that bow. The bear feeding on dead elk was was a really cool thing. Maybe another hunter lost it..I would had been bummed to lose that..Looks like you had a great hunt.
Bow info in description
Awesome experience!! I had two diy Elk bow hunts in Colorado and my second trip , on the first morning's hunt I called up a herd bull who came rushing in after I cow called with another bull calling past me ...He had slobbers hanging down when he came screaming in..I was kneeling in some high weeds and let my arrow fly at about 42 yards hitting low and in the heart.. Just as he started to run I hit the cow call and he stopped, looking for her. I tried to nock another arrow , but my hand was shaking too badly now..I was worried the arrow hit too low..he started to walk slowly away and just as I saw him turn to go down a ridge he tipped over. I waited about a half hour , then slowly attempted to follow his trail even though he wasn't very far. Just then I hear something rush in just in front of me..(possibly the other bull) I wasn't sure at first if it wasn't my bull, but it wasn't, because I looked just past him and could see my bulls antlers sticking out of the weeds a short distance away. The most exciting hunt of my life! I was only about a half mile or so from my camp, but a rookie at this, so i didn't realize the spruce tree I marked with survey tape looked like a christmas tree when I was done. lol This was before GPS and their was no sure way of knowing exactly my location. Thanks for the great video and hunt! Subbed!!
What caliber was she shooting?
@@blackamericanoutdoorsmanll9179 that was a 28 Nosler
You’re a fuckin badass bro. Most intense elk hunting video I’ve ever seen! Insane!
you make some awesome bows and keep at it. I have watched your videos and making of bows. Keep at it, nice to see that your hard work is and has payed off. Congrats man well done.
You guys climb like The very Rams your hunting. I haven’t seen a teem like you guys since I was in the Coast Guard. Keep up the good work Boys
Congratulations on one of the hardest things you will ever accomplish in your life! It’s hard enough with a gun, but you did it with a couple sticks!
Great job man!
Such a cool trad hunt! Bringing the boys along, the way its supposed to be. Awesome shot under pressure..and the presence of mind to stop it and make the shot! Just an amazing hunt!
I eat the Lindt 100% bar. Thank you for the video. #UMMazing!
Well done fellas
Thanks for sharing hunt, Great bull! Congrats
Hold on man! Don't leave us hanging like that! What's the story behind the other dead elk the bear was eating? Did somebody shoot it and it got away? Did it look like the bear had killed it himself? (I know that's unlikely.) Did you have any other hunters in the area? If I see a dead bull like that bigger than anything I'll ever kill in my life. Might be detective hat would go on. I'll be leaving notes at the trail head, Asking around at other camps for somebody who shot and lost a bull. Etc.
This video was my cousin, it was at least a few days old and he couldn’t find an arrow, but it could have been killed by another hunter, I don’t believe he ran into anyone out there, so I don’t think anyone was out looking for it anymore
@mtnascent 😊 Thanks. That was driving me nuts... Your bows are beautiful. Kudos from a 52 year old, 40 year career trad bowhunter from Utah. Hope I get a bull like that someday.
Much respect for your style of hunting. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
great camera work!
Ok So did you eat the bear?? Never saw any more info on that? Nice hunt good work just want to know what you did with your bear meat?
Yes he packed the bear meat all out and we eat it.
Congratulations
Elk hunting is usually a team effort. To get one, with traditional equipment no less, and then pack it out by yourself, AND film it, just WOW! YOU DA MAN! I am an avid archery elk hunting. I KNOW how much work that was! Congratulations and good, no, GREAT job getting the video! 😍😍😍
Incredible video!…..congratulations
Congrats on a nice bull almost 2 years later! Very enjoyable hunting video.
This is awesome. Thanks for posting. It's inspiring to see solo recurve elk hunts.
Another awesome video. Good job stopping him! What broadheads are you shooting?
Incredible video, congrats on the bear and bull.
Great video and good shooting. Congrats on a fun adventure in the breaks and on a great bull. Hunted that country for years and don’t regret a minute of it.
That stalk was INTENSE! My adrenaline started going and I'm sitting on the couch brother! Congrats!
Congratulations 😮 nice one
Just came across this video and this channel, amazing hunt and filming! I’m determined to get a trad whitetail kill this year. This video has inspired me and made me hopeful for the future! I really appreciate it!
nice wallet!!!!!!!!
Congratulations. Its great to see a couple hunt together. Hope you continue to do so forever.
Your bow obviously not very powerful ya gotta get that close..
He can shoot ‘em farther just prefers closer
what time of year was this?
November
Dude !!! I have no idea how you pulled that off, filming, calling and shooting. But man you got it done. That was awesome. Ive seen pro camera man with worse footage. Very impressed you got that all. Crazy close encounter too.
Sweet
Nice shooting. But three shots when you could plainly see it one was good enough. But what ever shoot the hole front end off it lol. Great job.
It’s easy to see that on a big screen, not so easy out in the field, I have seen too many elk hit hard and never found them so unless it’s plainly obvious it’s over I will always say put another one in.
Congratulations!great bull.
Really enjoyed your video. Talk about patience and determination!
Congrats on the bull!!! Like the look of your recurve what are you using? Someday I’d like to head west for this. I live in Maine and have killed multiple moose but I’d like to get out for elk at some point!!!
I have all of the info on the bow setup listed in the description, check that out.
What a great hunt and a great job getting all on video I've been there and done that with traditional gear it's no easy feat so congratulations !!
