What are the dimensions of the playing area? I'd like to build something similar and I want to have some proportions to work with. How far are the holes from the sides and front bumpers?
I no longer own the game so can't measure and currently cannot find the dimensions I used to remake the playfield. If I find them I will post them up. overall the playing field is approximately 48"x30".
@@borgdog Great, thanks!
I did find the issue with the Final Resistance module later that day. Was a loose connector inside the ship part, just had to remove the top cover of the ship, reseat the connector, and all is well again.
I missed the stream. Great game! Scott is such a cool designer. Very kind too.
If you like themes with a center post between the flippers, i recommend Wheel of Fortune. Hardcore pinball people never really liked it (partially because of the code being unfinished so no wizard mode), but it has some good ball saving abilities between the center post and the 'free spins'
I've played it in virtual, but have never seen one irl
This game has a design problem, when all the drop targets are down, and the ball flies into the rebound rubber behind the targets, if timed just right, the targets will pop up and trap the ball, ending the game, what means a service call. Then you have to slide down the glass to free the ball and fix this. Pain in the neck when I was an operator, this happened about once every week. There was a factory service bulletin about how you could install new parts and a circuit that would drop all the targets when a player reset the game, but this was rather involved and I never got around to doing it on my games
@@JIm-w1b interesting. While I could see that possibility I have never had that happen.
There's a way to cheat this game, just as the ball flies out of one of those 2 top eject holes, give the game a heavy shove, like a bang, with the palms of your hands and the ball will jiggle and fall back into the eject hole. You can do this as many times as you like, to run your score up to replay
Gosh' I'd love to get Sal to sign one !!!
wicked!
Borg, i need you to come over and clean my house 😅
Great build. Beautiful and functional.
This is amazing!
Very entertaining. It's fun listening to you, learning how to play. Cheers.
I just bought one! Love it.
Actually looks like a fun game, despite being relatively simple.
I watched BorgDog play this machine. It seems like the game is giving him absolutely no chanch to keep the ball in play. I watched ball after ball drain very quickly. I think the machine needs to be adjusted to at least give the player a chance to keep the ball in play. This to me is absolutely not fair. I definetely would call this to somebodies attention. BorgDog needs to play better :)
As a 72 year old senior citizen, to give you a little bit of an edge, if you own this machine and others, I might suggest you adjust the front legs to reduce the slope of the machine. This would allow the balls to roll down the table a little slower allowing you more time and better control of the ball. I notice way too often, it seems that right after you make a good shot, you get punished by having the ball drain somewhere giving you very little chance. I have a game on my PC that I set to make things a little bit easier being I am not as quick as I used to be. Little bit of a handicap if you might say. A pinball enthusiast, Theodore.
This game, Jumping Jack, is it set to absolutely prohibit you from clearing all the drop targets before the ball drains? I have watched Borg Dog get down to 1 or 2 drop targets and then it always happens without fail the ball drains. It seems it should give a chance to clear all the drop targets. I have to admit this is real frustrating just to watch.
Seems like this game punishes when you make good shots. I expext to be rewarded, not punished when doing well. I have seen too much of the oppisit with this game. I think Borg Dog would agree.
the green drop target bank is definitely the risk/reward shots in the game. you could just play to clear the white bank and the top lanes and probably get pretty good scores, maybe I'll play that way sometime and see where it goes. I do like playing for extra balls on games for some reason.
Incredible breakdown, thank you!
I really appreciate you putting together this tutorial! I find it tricky to read a rule set and figure out a strategy, so this really helps!
I can't even tell if this makes it easier or harder 🤣
lol some of both, but I feel generally easier
Wouldn't mind owning one of these 😅
Thank you, borgdog for the great tutorial. You make it look so easy. We'll just see for this week's Thursday Throwdown. Wonderful table too! (pinballgramps)
First time I see this platform. Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
Your playfield could be one of the nicest originals out there!
Nice video! Is that an original playfield or one of the new repros?
Thanks! It is an original playfield I bought partially populated from TNT amusements 5 or 6 years ago that I did some minor touchup and clearcoated, then built the rest of the machine around it. I hvae no idea how long they had it out of a machine in stored, but it was in pretty good shape compared to most I see. Those new repros sure are pretty.
Great video. Another fun alien star video you shared. I keep trying to find one of these..no easy task. Thanks
Caught the replay of your stream from yesterday where you were playing this, and for some reason I wasn't familiar with this table, even though I'm pretty compulsive about downloading every vpx table that comes out. No idea how I missed this, but I found your rendition on VPU and it was a blast playing it after becoming so familiar with it via watching you do battle with it. Thanks!!
Glad you enjoy it, thanks for watching.
Nice! I have played Vulcan. Great to see you!
Thanks for watching! I used to own Vulcan years ago and picked up Fire Queen last year. Simple but fun game.
@@borgdog that is awesome. First one I got to play was Pinball Mayhem Jeremy’s
Nice camera setup and gameplay. Looks like a very nice machine. Thanks for sharing 😎
Thanks for watching!
Cool looking rig!
Thanks!
I missed it!
It was actually streamed a little over a month ago, just uploaded to youtube today. Will stream on twitch again sometime I'm sure.
When I met Jeremy in person for the first time, he was streaming Vulcan. Was really neat.
You can change the sound on this machine...
yeah, I just wasn't sure how since I have a replacement pascal board. Just found the info this morning after you prompted me to look again, dip switch in the backbox. The setting it's on is my preferred one, but may change for another stream someday.
Not to criticize you, but think about dead passing. It really makes pinball a lot easier
Interesting.
Just discovered this table in visual pinball. Fantastic! The sound effects and light show are amazing! I like your streaming setup. Very nice!
thanks, glad you like it. the VPX version on vpuniverse was done by me as well. Be sure to check out the Star Light by bord on vpu as well if you haven't already.
@@borgdog Thanks! I'll look for Star Light.
This is great. Thanks for posting.
Anytime :)
