"💪 Prime Force Cylinder vs Industry Standard: The Ultimate Wall Thickness Showdown!"
Are your hydraulic cylinders built to handle the pressure? 💪 In this video, we compare the Prime Force Cylinder to the industry standard, highlighting the critical difference in wall thickness that can make or break your system's performance.
🔧 Why Wall Thickness Matters:
The 600 Series features a 10mm sidewall, compared to the industry standard of just 6.3mm.
The 300 and 500 Series boast a 7.5mm sidewall, significantly thicker than the standard 6.3mm.
This added thickness allows Prime Force cylinders to withstand higher pressures without swelling-a common issue with thinner-walled cylinders that can lead to premature seal failure and costly repairs. With Prime Force, you get stronger, more durable cylinders designed for long-lasting performance.

How do I know if I need a 24 or 12 volt
The best way to determine if you need a 12V or 24V setup is to use a voltmeter. Here’s a quick guide: Set your voltmeter to DC and place the red lead on the positive (+) terminal and the black lead on the negative (-) terminal. If the reading shows 12-14VDC, you have a 12V system. If it reads 24VDC, you’re working with a 24V system. Another way to check is to look at the battery setup. If you only see one battery (especially in a dump trailer), it's likely a 12V system. However, using a voltmeter is the most reliable method to confirm your voltage.
Awesome video. Thanks for showing us the steps!
Glad it was helpful!
What kind of fittings does it come with? Just says sae6 on your sight,I want to know if it's English threads like vevor,or not threads, don't see any info on threads, pretty sure one i have not is npt to jic
Generally the fitting that is installed in the pumps manifold is a 90 degree fitting - #6 Male SAE (O-Ring Boss) into the pump manifold and on the other end is a #6 JIC male, where the hydraulic hose is attached. Here are the specs on the fitting. Part Number - 6801-06-06-4 Tube OD - 3/8" - Male JIC threads 9/16 - 18 Male SAE threads 9/16 - 18
Clear as a bell, thanks. I'm installing a new single action pump/ reservoir running a manifold for five different rams.
We have a new product coming out called the X-Block and it will allow you to run double acting cylinders with a single acting pump.
Absolutely amazing video. Thanks for the clear and precise steps!
what is the best hydrolic pump that can lift up to 8 tons
The Hydraulic pump/ power unit, does not determine the lifting capacity, Our power unit supplies hydraulic fluid at 3200 psi for lifting and 1500 psi of pressure for lowering, to the cylinder. The cylinder diameter is what determines the lifting capacity. A 5 inch diameter cylinder receiving 3200 psi hydraulic pressure can lift much more than a 3 inch diameter cylinder receiving 3200 psi hydraulic pressure. Make sure your pump/power unit supplies at least between 3000-3200 psi of pressure so your cylinder can lift the weight it is designed to lift. Some low cost models being offered on the internet offer a lower pressure output and much less flow which will not allow your cylinder to lift to it's full capacity. Make sure you buy a reputable brand with 3000-3200 psi output and and average 2 gpm output. All of our brand pumps at Primary Mover will meet these higher output requirements. Visit our website at primarymover.com or call us at 985-888-6554 and we will be happy to assist you.
When choosing your pump you must determine if you want a single acting system (Power up and gravity down) or a Double acting system (Power up and Power down). Next you need to determine what reservoir size you need for available hydraulic fluid to activate your system. Single acting pumps will require a larger reservoir size than a double acting. We can assist you in determining the size for your needs. Thank you for your interest in our products. We look forward to assisting you. Primary Mover
Looks like you lose quite a bit of ground clearance with the hydraulic jack. Is there one that has the drop leg too?
Hello, Thank you for your question! One of the great features of our hydraulic jack is its impressive 20 inches of travel, allowing you to achieve excellent ground clearance with just the push of a button. We've designed it to tuck up tightly under the trailer, maximizing clearance while still providing plenty of lift to get your trailer high off the ground when needed. This setup eliminates the need for a drop leg, saving time and effort with quick, reliable height adjustments. If you’d like to know more about how this could work with your specific trailer, feel free to reach out-we’re here to help!
Came here to watch video as it's helpful to my new auto jack lift I just bought. Thank you for the insight and help on how to bleed out the cylinder.
But u cannot continue to add fluid to half or more because once the cylinder is fully extended, all that fluid needs to go back into the tank when you bring it down. Only the hoses will still be filled. Your reservoir can’t hold it all and will spill out. Just look up what your cylinder volume is, and put 1-2 more quarts excess in your tank. Then do what he says to remove air.
That is only correct in a single acting application. The application he is showing is a double acting cylinder the fluid is actually transferred to the top side of the cylinder so you only have to account for the cylinder rod. Double acting setups are preferred if you want to run a smaller tank as the fluid mostly stays in the cylinder but just changes sides.

How do you screw the 90' elbow on the top of the pump, when the poppet valve is right next to it? Do i really have to take it apart to hook it up?
What pump do you have?

I have a altec at248f 2016 my lift doenst work and the hidraulic tank had a lot bublees. Back there I overflow the tank, but I take it off. Só what I can do now?
Could be an issue with your relief valve. It will cause the fluid to bypass and flow directly to the tank and cause a similar effect.
@primarymover8249 thank you so much. Solve my problem
Why does mine go up and not down the pump is runing up and down
One of your valves in your pump could be stuck. It is probably the directional valve. Debris can sometimes get in the valve and it get stuck in one position. Give us a call and we can discuss it with you.
Hey, I have a question .. my dump box moves up and down with out giving any rpm when it’s rpm . But when it’s loaded I have to give 1500 rpm or more to lift the box up ….while lifting up I can hear some kind of air noise … could you please tell me if it is weak hydraulic pump or something else .
add more oil to the reservoir
Very useful info. Thanks!
I have that same dump trailer in gray. I absolutely HATE the side crank manual landing gear. I'm going to be replacing it with one of your kits. I'm still deciding on which route to go as far as pumps. I plan to replace a top crank landing gear on my BigTex 14OA trailer as well.
Very professional presentation, learn from Mr.Cliff!
The product looks great.👍
I am looking at a Lamar dump trailer that has power up/down and gravity down. Would this jack work with the Lamar setup?
Yes it would but remember you need power to extend the jack as well as raise the jack leg. Just use the top two buttons for the leg to extend and raise. are you looking at one of our power jack ad on kits? we can gladly help you and these are in stock. Primary Mover Inc

What if the cylinder doesnt move up? Is there too much air in there n if so what's my nxt move. I think I ran the unit low oil in tank n she sucked in air....
If you tried the methods explained in this video then you might have a different issue. You could be having a issue with your relief valve. What type of setup do you have?
@@primarymover8249 I have a single. I believe it's the downward valve failure. The solenoid I can hear n feel clicking. If the valve is always in the open position it would make sense. But I bought the jungheinrich brand and dont know where to get parts
If it’s a two way cylinder set up on a one way system what would you block the 2nd line plug in a hydraulic line cylinder a bolt or a vent?
You would use a vent on the top port of the cylinder. the filling is called a breather fitting. Doing this you would only need one line from your single acting pump to the bottom of the cylinder. Thanks for your interest in our products. Here is a link to the breather fitting on our website www.primarymover.com/products/breather-6-sae
If you ran low on fluid and air was sucked into the system you will need to follow the proceedure of adding fluid and going thru bleeding steps. Video link - ua-cam.com/video/-7HhjMS_kp4/v-deo.html&lc=UgzIqIJVBK_drxDCoGJ4AaABAg.A093tfnazg3A31YCnn6sme
Hi
I have a single acting pump and single acting cylinders on my dump trailer but want to put a hydraulic jack on it. Is there a way to do it with out changing the pump and cylinders. Or can I just put a kti double and single pump in my trailer?
Can you contact our office @ 985-888-6554 so I can better assist you and answer all your questions.
Is it possible get a Pump with no attached tank, as I have seperate unit with hoses. Thx
We do not sell that style sorry.

Awesome video!!
Thanks for the support.
Great explanation ... looking forward to the pros and cons of the single vs double pump options. Thank you for your time to create these videos
Thanks for the support. We currently working on a video to address those differences. Please subscribe and thank you.
Single Acting Systems vs Double acting Systems - Single acting systems are power up and gravity down. An advantage of this system is that the motor runs when lifting but the motor does not run when lowering. Because these units are 12V systems and run off a 12V battery, you use less of your battery supply with each dump with the motor not running when lowering. This system does require a larger reservoir because you must fill the system to it full capacity when lifting and all that fluid is returned to the reservoir when lowering. Most Single acting systems have only one one supply hose connected to the bottom of the cylinder. the top port of the cylinder will generally have a breather fitting in it to allow the air above the piston inside the cylinder to escape during lifting and air to return inside the cylinder when lowering. ------------- Double Acting systems are power up and power down, With this system you motor runs going up and going down which uses a little more battery supply with each dump cycle. The advantages of this system are that is uses a smaller reservoir because hydraulic fluid is pumped to the cylinder to extend it (lifting) and fluid is also pumped to the cylinder to retract it (lowering). In doing this the cylinder will always have fluid in it and it just transfers from one side to the other so the cylinder becomes like part of your reservoir. Double acting systems will always have two ports with two hydraulic hoses from the pump to the cylinder. One port on the pump , generally labeled port "A" will be your 3200 psi high pressure port and that hose will go to the bottom port on your cylinder (port opposite the rod side of cylinder). the second hose from port "B" will be you 1500 psi pressure port and will go the the port on the cylinder nearest the rod for lowering. Double acting systems give you the advantage of being able to force the dump bed back down when making partial load dumps or when spreading with your dump bed and half of your load is at the rear of the bed and too much weight on the rear your bed and it is up in the air and won't come down. Using a Double acting pump will allow you to lower the bed. Your choice of selecting a Single or Double acting should be based on your use and your peference. ----------------------------------Thank you for your interest in our products. Please allow us to assist you with needs and help you with any further questions you may have. ------- Primary Mover ------ www.primarymover.com ----- 985-888-6554

Can a 12 volt pump be mounted vertical
Yes, It would require a slight alteration to the pickup tube in the reservoir. Call if you have more questions.
What model of hydraulic motor do you use? I have one of your pumps already mounted on my lowboy for hydraulic ramps. I would love to add hydraulic landing gear. Is it strong enough to lift the trailer loaded?
I figure I would answer my own question. I ended up putting this on my lowboy. Primary mover has a "kit" that they put together for me. It came with the hydraulic motor and driveshaft with slip yoke and universals. All I had to do was to fab some brackets to mount the motor in line with the driveshaft. The slip yoke has enough play to allow the gearcase to shift between high and low. The hydraulic motor is very strong, but it is too hard on the landing gear to lift a loaded trailer in high. It turns the shaft about as fast as humanly possible. So when the legs touch the ground, stop and shift to low. It works good. One consideration. The hydraulic motor is locked rigid when the hydraulic pump is not running. So if the battery dies or the pump breaks or whatever, you cannot override it by re-installing the manual crank. You would have to remove the drive bolt. Another option is to plumb in a valve that (when opened) would connect the 2 oil lines together and create a loop. This let's oil flow around and around and the motor turn by hand with the manual crank. This is the way I did it and it works great.
dump truck hoist.very nice.
That was very informative, he really simplified it
Thanks so much!
How much
Check PrimaryMover.com We have many options and models that fit many applications.
Can I use this to lift the cab of my truck?
Yes, This power unit will activate any hydraulic cylinder.
How long can i run this pump continously with out break?
These DC motors have a recommended continues run time from 90 to 120 seconds. Rest cool and repeat.
