Life of a Walmart Overnight stocker.
Did you end up getting the border patrol IT job?
All true
Peanut butter jelly time
Seems like a peaceful job
Go get a job in construction and it'll show your ssa to appreciate Walmart. Smh. Quit bitchin!
I appreciate this a lot. I start overnight stocking tomorrow and I plan to thug it out while I take advantage of the Free College program Walmart offers. They have some really great benefits.
burnt
Worst job I ever worked , didn’t train me lol just threw me to the wolves , I was putting shit anywhere lol
Thank you for posting this, it’ll help me when I start in a few days
Facts 4:42
Thank you for this man. I was just hired for ON, and this vid was super informative so im not going in completely clueless on Day 1.
Do you have a video about how to take overstock back ? And what to do with it
Respect for dealing with those tiny labels.
Just did three nights at home Depot moving shelf displays.9pm to 5 am.. never ever again.didnt like no shift pass 12 when inwas young.its not called the graveyard shift for nothing..😮
Yssup
As someone who works nightshift with autism it sucks they think I'm a robot and make me work GM by my self when I need people to help me, I ended up hurting my back and now I'm probley gonna get yelled at for it
People trolling past the aisles is the best part on 3rd shift.
Not rotating stock . He slow
Im in weatherization as an energy auditor. I’m trying to get a contract with utility companies down in FL. This was a helpful video. So far no luck, I emailed two people nothing yet. I’ll try to call them.
stocking was a fun job at walmart until they took it away from cap 2 then it all went to hell i quit half a year ago it got so bad at mine
Burn lol
I start tmr with my bf of 4 years bc our last job did us wrong and stopped giving us hours and we have bills to pay. This video helped me out a lot thank you for the advice!
How is it I just applied and imma call soon but idk what to expect how’s the schedule?
This is the best training video I've seen when it comes to stocking. This guy should be a trainer. Please show us videos on how to use that scanning device you have. And also how to work at the backdoor stockroom when returning boxes and searching for items.
I did my first night shift on July 9th, the guy they gave me as my trainer is not properly training me. It's making me want to quit. I'm having a hard time reading the bar codes, locating where certain items go. He didn't even show me how to use the scanner for overstock items.
Has it raised your credit score?
I’m so glad I don’t stock groceries anymore It killed my back and knees and I hated moving pallets.
Just open up the box and match it up to what it looks like 🤦♂️

Man, I worked overnight at Lowes as an Overnight Stocker, I left because we had this one woman that does the same thing we do, trying to act like a supervisor or tell us to do stuff being bossy, and I got tired of it Everytime I seen her, she was trying to get me to do stuff, she made working at Lowes uncomfortable, anxiety, and miserable The job was ight, but sometimes it just be who you working around
Your team/coworkers make a huge difference. I've done backbreaking work for great people with decent pay/benefits and i was willing to go the extra mile for those employers. Even if a job is a cakewalk if you're working with difficult people who are out to make others suffer, it doesn't work out.
This is not correct for all trims and does not work on a 2023 Rio with CarPlay and the alternate instrument cluster.
What do with other cluster
I worked building modular systems, meaning the physical aisles and shelving/peg placement. If the facing is off then employees begin to "plug", meaning they start shoving everything behind other products and then there is no room for the product to the side and it creates a vicious cycle because the employees are being timed and fixing time consuming plugging issues is not accounted for in the overall daily task time. Consequently, the stocker is now placed in a precarious position of having to spend their time "fixing other people's problems/laziness", losing time and not getting any credit for it. And it's not necessarily any desire to receive credit, but if anything, being ridiculed for taking "a long time" to finish their assigned task within an alotted time based on who knows what, a pallet size. That is also why stockers don't verify as much because they open a can of worms and it only leads to physically readjusting shelf locations. The modulars are created specifically for a reason all the way down to each peg positioning. Once the facing is off on a section, it spreads like cancer because not many employees feel they have the time to fix it because they may need to readjust an entire shelf, section and possibly an aisle if really bad. And always "justify" left. Wherever the first item on the shelf is positioned left to right, that is exactly where the shelf label needs to be, to the very left of the first item in the shelf. That is where the facing count begins, and it also identifies where an item ends and a new item begins. And thats important because many items look the same, particularly in aisle A8-9, the pasta aisle with many different sauces but similar looking labels. Also, a work phone with a scanner helps out tremendously because many of the boxes do not have a label identifying the aisle and location number. We each have an assigned phone for our store in Southern California. Again, if a store diverts from the modular architect sheet, there goes your efficiency and the overall production begins to fail because the floor count, backroom count etc is all off and you waste physical time bringing inventory to the floor that doesnt fit on the shelf because of the plugging issue. It's a cancer that store managers don't take serious. If they stocked for an hour in grocery they would get it.
Started at Walmart a few months ago & you're totally right, trying to organize the shelves so your stock fits is a huge time-draining burden that no one takes seriously 😒
For sure, I started taking pictures because they are coming at people with feedback and our aisles are plugged as fuck. If I have one bottle or item I just topstock it, I don’t understand fucking up the aisle that you work the next day. People are just lazy.
@@leahthemushy2859 Same here, started taking pics also, but then I was spending too much time taking pics. Like you said, the aisles are all jacked up. I don't think we'll ever get rid of plugging because, like you said, lazy people will always exist. Take care.
@@David-fc1uf yup, you can never win with Walmart. Positive feedback basically doesn’t exist. Only negative reinforcement lol. The sad part is my team lead are great and always looking tired. They just have to say what they say because they get yelled at my our store manager. So I blame upper management always. Our team leads are as fucked and tired as we are lol. If not more. Anyways thanks for the rant and letting me rant. Have a nice day.
@@leahthemushy2859 One of our team lead who has been there 8 months just cussed out all of mgmt for being lazy, so they fired him. He was the hardest worker there. When I first got hired I thought he was a stocker. I heard he cussed them out good. Everything you said is right on. The managers look like the walking dead. There is too much favoritism.
Thank you for putting this up, mighty kind of you!
What's the work schedule for this?
You have definitely seen my Walmart video. No doubt about it 😂. You seen my views and wanted to do this. That's cute.

Ihave some zararains, can i add beer for batter?
Facts to the comments 👍
Unfortunately, many departments have some items with different kinds of labels, that don’t have aisle location numbers. So, it’s not a magic formula that will help you stock EVERYTHING in the store…
Bahahahhahahahahah
ive been an overnight stocker for like a month or so and i love it. only thing i hate is when they have me by myself in a section and theres like 2 pallets and a couple of carts. sometimes more
Last week they gave me 11 pallets and 1 top cart for auto and hardware. I only finished 9 but I got help at the end. That was the most I ever had. Two weeks ago I had 9 pallets in the grocery pasta aisle. That one takes longer because of all the glass bottles. Typically we get about 5-7 pallets. We do a lot of sales, Los Angeles county.
Walmart: One of the top 3 worst companies in North America.
How did everything turn out for you
Aaaand.. ya hope the distribution center has the correct modular layout for your store LOL. And for items with expiration dates, you are supposed to zone the oldest dated items to the front of the shelf and stock the new items in the back.
Just scan the box, it tells you how many are in the box and exactly where it goes. May be no need to open the box. Did you get any training? Have they complained about your speed and one handing it?
Even though this position was brief. The training I received is the exact same I mentioned in this video. And no I did not get any complaints. My supervisors understood my disability and did not force me to go beyond what I could physically do
@@rodsamson568 Did you quit or get fired?
@@user-sp8eb6iz7f quit
I wanted to learn how to read labels I think @rodsamson explained pretty nicely,
Does anyone know whats is the CASS app?
The one piece of information I needed I found right here (The 8-9 minutes)! looks good my man, thank you.
Glad I could help!
