The bigger the quartz vein the smaller the gold particles normally. You want veins a foot thick or less usually. Higher pressurization and surface contact with the host rock leads to better mineral leaching and deposition through depressurization.

Excellent video mate. So how does the GM1000 compare to the Nox 800 in gold mode, given they are both VLF machines? That's assuming g they both have small coils fitted?

Interesting video...I detect here in the UK for historic relics rather than gold, but I use a set up very similar to yours, except I use a shovel instead of a pick...I have added a short length of bungee cord that hooks onto the D ring on the shoulder strap of the harness so it then becomes a swing harness to take some of the weight of the detector. I don't detect anywhere particularly remote these days, but in the past I was in the Army Reserves and also an avid hunter, so I am quite happy being off the beaten path so to speak. One thing I would highly recommend is a separate stand alone GPS given how critical location is to you guys. A simple unit will do and just keep it as a spare..I would back the two GPS unitd up with a compass and a topo map if good detailed maps are available for the area you detect... Getting back to your video, you mention your iPhone allows you to send texts via satellite...Would love to here more about that feature and whether it's iPhone only, or whether it's available for Android users as well? I found a 1 Ounce Nuggett with a Whites 6000 Di Pro in Queensland at Clermont even though I was told to go Home.. For Brisbane I also have a Gold Monster 1000, then Yesterday I bought a Minelab EQUINOX 800 with a 6' DD Coil for our Parks. Have you tried an EQUINOX 800 at your Local Gold grounds with any luck???

Yesterday I spotted a FISHER Gold Bug 2 for $90 in Perfect Condition at a secondhand store.... Tomorrow it will also be mine... lol.
