My friend Chris and I spent a few hours arrowhead hunting in one of the fields I have permission to walk in. we both found serval arrowheads. and plenty or native american tools. this video is shot in the same field last week's video was filmed in. This site produces so many nativamerican tools and arrowheads it is an incredible location. I can't wait to get back out in it next year.

I found over 30 Arrowheads, Arrowhead hunting in upstate New York 2024

Walking in this corner of this field and finding all the broken Arrowheads, I couldn't Help but wonder why there were so many. Was this An Ancient target practice area? probably not lol. It was more likely a kill site. A kill site was a place where native slaughtered and butchered animals for food. The Arrowhead tips could have been in the meat or lodged in the bone and then discarded. The tool...

The crystals we were pulling out of here were unbelievable. mining for them was so much easier than mingling for herks. At this location you are searching for pockets/veins full of clay and that's what hold the crystals. #upstatenewyork #crystals #gems #rockhounding #quartz #quartzcrystal

thanks for watching man.
Thanks for the hunt bro. Its always fun tagging along. Peace
I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Br9 that was an excellent hunt
Thanks man I've got 3 videos left to release really hopping that guy in sc is serious about bringing me out.
Nice 👍
Thanks
What is a net sinker?
Native Americans would knock those two notches off of a river rock and then attach it to their Nets to catch fish
That's an Indian love stone...just another f'ing rock.
How do you figure. it is made of chert and has flakes taken off all over it. It is most definitely a core
Stone is wet... hard to tell if theres impact abrasion around the lip of the divot,or if if there are fine striations inside the hole, and polished from use as a mortar,we are both in new York, some pestles were wood and don't leave much evidence...invest in a decent jewelers loupe..., you will be able to see the details of deliberate working seriously up close and personal...looks like one..
I ended up deciding to leave this at the creek the inside of the divot was rough and not smooth almost like there was some kind of nodule that fell out
Just found your cast.. glad to find another New York State collector. In between Buffalo and Rochester NY, find a lot of most unusual tools and one of a kind unexpected stuff.... very well acquainted with Onondaga chert... Where are you,if I may ask ??
I live in Schenectady County
It is a type or chert
Probably Onondaga..I'm between Buffalo and Rochester NY, where you find chert you get limestone...we find a very nice looking variety of the chert that is light grey to blue.... Also find a lot of palm to hand size limestone spearheads.... glad to find someone else in the glorious state of new York
@mikereilly7629 I live in Schenectady County I have found gray blue black and green the green in normaskill chert
It appears to be Obsidion.
its some kind of chert
Cool
Thanks
Thanks for taking me along. Keep at it brother. Peace
Every one is with me in spirit.
It blows me away how the technology of point crafting changed Clovis and Folsom points were the pinnacle and then the deluge and catastrophe around 10-11,000 years ago happened And the points since then are crude and nowhere near what they used to be Pretty interesting and wild to me.. There’s a few places out here in AZ where you can find obsidian knives and spear points, arrowheads It’s a wild place, just outside Flagstaff
@blackflag-bountyboys that would be super cool to find some artifacts made from obsidian. I do find some really nice stuff from time to time but I do pretty much all field hunting and the plow's are unforgiving.
@@19SAA88 for sure I’m from MN and ND Have a couple really nice pints from up there Seriously, if you ever come out here let’s go on a search
@@19SAA88 I have a bucket full of cool stuff, and a smaller one of the really nice ones In fact, I carry obsidian with me and donate it to the lands and spirits of the people before me, whenever I’m hunting an area Out of respect and giving back
Good finds man, congrats
Thank you. Thanks for watching!
I've found 6 in 20 years. LOL
You just gotta check thos spots were you found those there gotta be more.
Keep it up Shawn.Peace
I plan to till I'm old and grey lol. Thank you for watching
Really enjoy your videos.
Thank you so much! It make me happy to know people do enjoy my videos.
CORN!!!
@@JackMyhoff-wy5mc corn as far as the eyes can see lol
@@19SAA88 I just harvested my one bushel from one row just the other day because grasshoppers killed them overnight but it gave me seed for next year. Any tips for north Tx beside maybe “water the s out of them”? I couldn’t imagine how to No till in corn but I do have a thick wildflower patch that in hindsight might have worked better than tilling such a small area and letting the grass take over… y’all big timers run a chain through your trenching every 2 or 3 months right? Grass is worse than grasshoppers 1000%
@@JackMyhoff-wy5mc When I said my fields, I just meant the fields that I have permission to look in. I do not grow any of the crops in the fields that I walk. Sorry for the confusion
@@19SAA88 you lied to me…
@@JackMyhoff-wy5mc lol I guess technically but not intentionally
You pulled that tip from your ass
Thats a cool find man
If you think this is cool you should see some of my full length videos and find some really cool stuff check my latest.
New sub for ya.
Hell yea thanks a lot!!
That big Levana point is a good one.
Man I was so pumped
@@19SAA88 fighting a plow never makes it easy in a field.
Hey, what area of upstate New York are you in?
I live in Schenectady county. how about you?
@@19SAA88 in Ulster county, near New Paltz.
@@Eastwing74 New Paltz is about an hour from me how's the arrowhead hunting out that way?
@@19SAA88 really awesome all the farm fields pretty much everywhere you go in Ulster county have remnants of the natives.
@@19SAA88 I am also about 45 minutes from Orange County where they have the black dirt. It’s a famous area because they recovered a whole mastodon skeleton out of the ground.
Hey, I’m from upstate New York. Are you in the Catskill mountains?
I am not but I'm not too far is that were your from how the arrow head hunting up that way
Oh arrow heads lol my bad
All good. Iv got plenty of full video of some nice stuff on my channel check it out if your interested
I don't get it
It is the broken tip to a native Arrowhead
Obsidian knives and arrows were sharper than surgical knives
I don't either. I can't believe anyone watches this for fun
@@bobjones3069 I'm in groups on face book with 100k members if you don't like it you don't have to watch. Lots of other people are interested and will. 🤙🏼
@@JackMyhoff-wy5mc That is true about obsidian. The material that is made out of the arrowheads I find doesn't get quite that sharp.
Great day in the field, awesome recoveries, keep on em 😎😎😎
Thank you!! Unfortunately the corn to tall know.. iv got several more Saturdays worth of videos to put out still though. Glad you are enjoying them.
tip i don’t understand
Arrowhead tip I'm guessing
It's a broken tip to an arrowhead
I have full length videos where I find much better stuff.
Nice hunt. Once found a huge levana in a footprint. Peace
That's crazy. We are all walking over all sorts of stuff we can't see yet.
Broken tip of what?
Arrow head
@@grumpymonk2460 cool! Def a keeper!
Hard to tell the general term is arrowhead but could be a knife, Arrowhead, spear point, or other such stone tool. Thanks for watching!!
How far upstate are you? You should try Jefferson county.
That about 3 hours from me. Good looking up there?
Вааааау, круто!!!!
thanks!
Hey just a tip, the videos don’t get views if they are under 10 minutes: enjoy your finds
30's is all that is needed for a video to be counted as a view. so says a quick google search?
Looks like some nice pieces. what part of ny are you in ?
Im in Schenectady county. Do you collect?
@19SAA88 joe foster here, I do hunt and collect and also a amateur knapper 😉
@@overhaullin84 what part of the state are you in. iv tried n knapping a few times but haven't since last summer
Could be a bi faced knife or a blank
definitely could be. I found this years ago in the same field you and I were in.
Orient fishtail
it sure is. i has happy to find this one hole!
Keep at it Shawn. Your day or days will come. Peace
I plan to! thanks for watching.
You said it's a secret location but can you share what state you found them in?
New York

That's one hell of a spearhead
Do you think it could be a spearhead? I have another one practically the same design. From another location and I really felt like they were big knives or scrapers.
niceee
Thanks. And thanks for watching
Just a rock lil bro
It definitely has serration showing that it was knapped, it’s a real deal knife and at one point it was sharp enough to shave hair
Lol. I will discard it from my collection ASAP😂
