Sato had made that same pass on Franchitti in the same spot and made it stick just a little earlier in the race. Couldn't hang on when it counted most, though.

I’m surprised of the mixed reactions of the crowd. I always thought Dario was a fan favourite.

My favorite UA-cam video of an Indy 500 moment was the Japanese broadcast of the finish of this race. It was taken down a couple of years ago - but was AWESOME. I hope it finds its way back online some day.

Was a GREAT race. I like Franchitti, and am a huge Dixon fan ... but was pulling for Sato big time. Doubt he'll ever see such an opportunity again - but can't blame him for attempting the pass. Just one a them racin' thangs.

@SNESpguy Don't remember exactly but I do remeber him saying it was only available for 2 years in the early 90's. @chupposity It's a 1998 Crown Vic Interceptor retired county parks car (basically un-abused. lol) The work it take to get any car ready for this type of event really is dependent upon resources available. People to do the work, location to do the prep, money, welding,and parts and other factors.This car took about 3 or so months with only 2 people (1 most of day/time) at 4-6 and sometimes 7 days a week. Just be sure you want to have A LOT of fun racing and dedicated teammate before hand.
