I want to add my 2 cents that the laser beam so a no go for me. The light tends to vibrates terribly unless your machine is solid as a rock! Also i use 2 way sticky tape and a kids lego as a seam guide. Works like a dream. For quilting long runs painters tape. I use inexpensive kids markers that disappear with a damp cloth for marking fabric. Usually they come packaged in several colors. All these things I get at the dollar store. I hate throwing money away when I could use it on nice fabric. Thanks for the video

Great video. Looking for a video on pulling up bobbin thread and free motion on this machine. This machine seems to unthreads

What about the needle threader? I find it quite good

Thank you for sharing your favorite tools! I use either clover flat head pins or magic pins-both come in multiple sizes. After trying a dozen different rotary cutters my favorite is the one by Martelli-it’s ergonomic which means less hand, wrist, and shoulder fatigue and I find it easier to be more accurate with my cuts-the make both a right & a left handed one.

I noticed you use 3M tape. That firm has a plant on the River Schelde near Antwerp that has just been convicted by the Belgian state for polluting the water there no end. We here in Europe (I live in Holland) therefore look at 3M with some reserve. All this not your fault, of course! Nice tips!👍

Thank you for the ideas. I have a sewing machine case on wheels. A friend uses the Fiskars spring handle scissors for cutting when not amusing a rotary cutter. She showed me she doesn't have to bend her hand/wrist at the angle of a manual Fiskars. It would be nice to have someone carry our sewing downstairs and lift it in and out of the car 🙂. I have a sewing machine case on wheels that helps orherwise. I have the Clover needle threader. It is amazing how it threads a small eye needle.

I like Judy's Star, Duck Track Star and Double Friendship. Sounds like a fun quilt-a-long, looking forward to it.

Thanks for the video. I noticed that you missed the needle bar guide when you were threading the upper thread. Is there any reason why you did not use the automatic needle threader?

I have always been a fan of the friendship star. You could fussy cut a patch for the center. I also like wonky stars. I hope this helps you. All of your projects look terrific, Debbie. That's a good idea to use placemats to practice your quilting. Good luck with the class and the quilt-along.
