I caught 791 yesterday when it came at 10 am I just uploaded the video

@@TampaRailFan yeah it Comes by in the morning Monday Wednesday and Friday but only comes back Monday and Wednesday.

@@OldsmarRRfan yes, it will be there every Monday and Wednesday twice a day, I haven’t figured out radio scanner frequencies yet or how to tell what they’re saying, but I’ve figured out L791 schedule
@@TampaRailFandispatch is 160.230 the main channel is 161.100, and there is also a front and end of the train 452.9375 and 457.9375.
I can bring my laptop with a programming cable on Friday and program your Uv5r pretty fast

I see you got the end of train frequencies programmed , nice it’s good to always monitor those from your house so you get alerted when the train is near by

I know I was running to it so I could not record it with my tripod in the usual spot

Did you buy the scanner pre programmed or do it yourself
Did you know if you press function then search you can do a service search on the scanner and there’s a railroad service search bank that has all the railroad channels on it
I know but if I a am somewhere I can scan all 97 channels for csx if I want to.
By the way you don’t need all those other frequencies in your scanner for l791 all you need is 161.1000,160.2300 and 452.9375,457.9375

Because I like it more it’s a good change up for the channel

Train is coming tomorrow morning
L791 goes from Clearwater to Tampa every Monday and Wednesday, it comes through about 7-9 am and returns between 11-1 pm if it’s on time. Tuesday and Thursday is from Clearwater to st pete, I’m not sure of the time frames though
You gotta add the head of train and end of train frequencies to your scanner they let you know when a train is coming way ahead of time by making a chirping sound over the radio that’s how I get there on time every time to see the train they are 452.9375 and 457.9375 for the frequencies

Add 452.9375 and 457.9375 to your scanner those are the head of train and end of train frequencies whenever you hear activity on them you’ll know a train is nearby that’s how I always catch the train on time waiting from my house
