Many locals know of Mosswood Farm Store in Micanopy as a great place to stop for some coffee and pastries, but few are aware of the incredible tropical oasis and plant nursery owner Joseph "Micanopy Joe" Pierce is creating behind his store. Exploding with 25 varieties of bananas, 8 varieties of clumping bamboos, dozens of culinary and ornamental gingers, and many other plants for sale or trade, Joe has brought the tropics to north Florida. The nursery is open Wednesday-Sunday.
