This video documents the first phase (aka STOCK) in the Willhoit Auto Restoration 912 Engine Conversion Project.
The background music sucks. Very distracting. Overwhelms the whole video.
Shame it has that terrible music playing
title is 912 porsche engine conversion...all you showed us is what we know already. show us the new motor and how it performed installed in the car. too much background music too! nice car though...
Well, contact Willhoit Auto Restoration - he has a NEW motor - 170 hp, fits perfect in 356 and 912
For me, the driver is just brutal.
electric is faster
So is liquor!
IMO the car looks gorgeous AS IS. No need to make it faster it sort looses its originality!
You wouldn’t really be able to tell the difference. As long as the original case and transmission stay with the car, the car retains its value.
Get rid of that crap music ,
the olde engines were ok for the 60s 70s, ,But in todays driving you need a 2 litre or a t less 145 ph at least, the gearbox will take it, its just the clutch plate needs up grading
johnroosterrod65@gmail.com I wonder were they moved the radiator. In the front trunk, or the rear next to the Subaru transplant engine. Semper Fidelis
Sounds awesome. Where did you get the shoulder seatbelt mounting brackets?
Nice vid, thanks for sharing...folks tend to forget the 12 is a couple hundred pounds lite of the 11s...
Get yourselves a new Miata, go faster, and have money left over for a house. Plus Porsche is douche bag spelled backwards
jen zydyk who drives a Prius..and never made a dime on a car....go troll on a chat room for shoes..lol
Miata. Haha some dreams/ambitions you have.
That music though...very bad
Chris with the new engine-What modifications did you do to your suspension, transmission and brakes to handle the power?
There is a limited-slip diff, stock suspension, stock disk brakes. The trans is stock, but rebuilt, the trans is pretty good and handles the power. Sorry for late reply
Much appreciated! Thanks for the info and keep posting videos of your 912!
Define affordable?
What's the 0-60 time now?
Looks like quite the upgrade. Did Willhoit do the whole car or just the engine? Also, was it the kit he sells on his website, or a total custom build?
Is Wilhoit Restoration more affordable than Rod Emory?
Hi, Are you using a standard exhaust or a Willhoit sports exhaust or other. It sounds really great. I know in part this is the motor but would appreciate your thoughts. Regards Jock
The new engine has 150hp
How much horsepower is the engine producing after the rebuild and increase in displacement? I've thought about doing a big bore kit on the 1.6 liter or converting to a big bore 2.2 liter Type 4 from a 914. I'm very curious to know what kind of numbers it's putting out now.
+Ryan Lange The new engine has 150hp
+ewholz1 awesome, that's about double what it originally dynoed at.
