Oh you ride one of these! All makes sense now.
Hi was the wheel charging when it happened? I have same symptoms but mine is not charging on top of this so wondering if this is expected.
The controller board died riding the wheel on a staircase, and I never tried to charge it again with the failing controller. It wouldn't surprise me if the wheel wont charge when the controller board is failing.. But I cant say for certain.
@@CrunchyTire Thanks! I really appreciate quick response! My board died when trying to get on a curb at zero speeds, pretty disappointing. Have you tried stairs again eversince swapping the boards or its a no no for this wheel/board combination? Dont feel like swapping the boards again in the future as a result of stairs/curb
@@kostya862003 Sorry to hear about your master. Im going to avoid riding up stairs on any wheels after this. Going up a single curb or riding down stairs shouldn't cause that to happen for you... I bought a second controller board to have on hand just in case it dies again. There are a lot of people with dead controller boards on their masters so it does seem like something else is going on with these wheels.
In the future they'll make a 250v wheel that can o anything
Thanks for the video... I put a deposit down on this. I'm wondering if you can expand on the 3d printed parts. Did you do this yourself? How much did it cost? Can you show the kickstand in action? How well does the mud guard work? I've heard complaints of the handle digging into peoples hands... how does it feel when you lift this with the new grips? How did you attach them? Thanks for your help!
I replied to your other comment on my other video which asked mostly the same questions.. the grips do help. I carry up 3 flights of stairs and it helps with that. The mud guard and kickstands work great. With weather and my schedule I won't have time to make a video for a little while.
@@CrunchyTire I'll check out the comments in the other video. I didn't see them. Sorry!
@@between2vines No problem! I think I got all your questions covered in my last 2 comments to you. if you have more feel free to ask.
@@between2vines Also Im curious where you put a deposit down? You're not talking about the commander pro are you? I dont know of any places still doing deposits for the commander.
Hello, I'm buying a commander and considering doing the 3D prints. What's the best route to go if I want the same printing done? How many of the lateral protectors do I need to get? What material to use? What's a reasonable price if I get someone to do it for me? Can you show how they are mounted? Thanks!
They are large prints so you will need a printer with a large bed. I used the anycubic kobra max, its a "low end" printer but offered the biggest bed for the price. You need 4 lateral protectors. I mounted everything with velcro so they could be easily adjusted or removed. Use TPU material. Im not sure about reasonable price since its a public/free print file. Someone would probably just charge by the hour for their printing service. These take quite a few hours to print. For everything you may be looking at 40 or so hours of print time.
@@CrunchyTire What do you think it costs you to make them? Just wondering if it is worth it to buy a 3d printer. Do you find yourself using your printer a lot?
@Andrew Stone The cost of the printer is the expensive purchase the TPU material is pretty cheap to buy like $20 per roll. There is not much cost in printing the parts themselves just the time it takes to do it. But did you put a deposit down on the commander pro or the commander? These are for the regular commander and you said you put a deposit down but I don't think you can anymore for the commander. I'm wondering if you actually purchased the commander pro
High Torque.. huge hit on speed but overall fun wheel.
Yea, Im not doing 40+mph on this. Its my range wheel so Im not pushing the top speed anyway. I've really been enjoying it. I have a master to get my speed fix. But I like long range rides more usually.
how's the wheel holding up? still like it?
Its been excellent so far, I was just on it yesterday. Once the weather gets better I'll be taking it on all the mtb trails around here. Too muddy right now.
I inquired with AR about why these were discounted so much. I thought they were maybe used. They got back to me and said that they are new and are offering the discount due to the shorter warranty. Seems weird to me.
Yea its reduced to 6 months from 2 years. Im sure warranty support is a big expense for EUCs. Im not sure how much is covered between retailers and manufacturers. My master controller board was almost $500 receipt price, free under warranty. Not accounting for someone that asks to have AR install it for them, labor etc.(I did it myself) And batteries can be half the cost of an EUC. But I bet thats not the only reason, the sale has gone on for a long time so I bet they had a lot of stock to get rid of. Shermans were hot and sold out when this came out so maybe dealers over ordered stock... Im trying to ride it as much as possible in my 6 months just in case lol, but its been doing great. 6 months warranty is short compared to 2 years but its a lot closer to the 1 year that most retailers offer. So its a big discount when you see ewheels has it for $4k with a 1 year warranty. Its a simple wheel internally, and uses common parts from begode wheels that are pretty well tested by now. So Im not any more worried than any other Extreme Begotway
I just had a cut out too at approximately 20mph
Oh damn that sucks, did it start again or is it dead?
@@CrunchyTire it's dead after the cut out. Just beeps and wont balance. I had to take a train back home. Might be a mother board issue
@@tomford1611 That sounds exactly like what happened to mine when the controller blew. I have a video showing the symptoms on my channel for reference. The controller board is the "motherboard" but on EUCs they usually refer to them as the control board or controller if you need warranty support. It took the store 6 weeks to get my warranty board and ship it to me so contact them asap if under warranty. I bought a spare board as well just in case.
Great video!! You make it look so much easier than it really is. I'm dreading changing my Michilen Pilot 2. Those reinforced tires are so so tough to get on the rim
Thanks I appreciate it. I'm sure you'll do fine and try to have some fun with it don't stress too much. Just take your time. If something is binding, try to work at it from another angle. The 2 most important things are not pinch the tube inside and not to put a Dent in your rim with the metal spoons. Let me know how it goes for you! 😀
Good deal for a new wheel
yea buddy. Still on sale if you're thinking of getting one. Do you ride EUCs, if so which wheel do you have now?
@@CrunchyTire I just recently got a used hs msp came from a mten3 so I’m loving it🥂
@@azures9803 Nice! Both great wheels. Never ridden the MSP but I have an RS which is very similar. I have an Mten3 as well! Fun little wheel lol.
Hi . I also bought from them Commander HS a little more expensive. It is my 3 wheel , biggest one. Overall I'm satisfy , for the price with this big battery you can't go wrong. For sure it is not worth 4k initial price but half of it, well worth. Now im thinking if HT would be better option + fast charger for the price of HS but the deal is done , too late. The only downside so far , I broke the handle while trolleying down the stairs. Not possible to fix it without opening the cover, warranty issue. Other than that, great wheel.
Nice! The HS has a good top speed so it definitely has its benefits. I mainly went for the HT because people said it can get slightly better mileage but we'll see. It beeps pretty early with EUC world. I think I have 15% margin set up and I get beeps around 35mph. How is the acceleration on the HS, easy enough to get up hills? I have a V12 HS and to be honest its a beast. It hits 40mph pretty easily. Your HS commander should do 45+ I think. I'd be curious to hear your mileage per charge on that one as well. I've gotten 92 miles total in cold weather, maybe I could get a bit more if its warm out. I think for the price of either model its a great buy. Hopefully they last a while since they only have a 6 month warranty lol. Thanks for the comment I appreciate it!
@@CrunchyTire The problem with speed is that you need good road and weather conditions. So far I was able to get only about 37mph because wind didn't let me do more. The range I got 53 miles with battery at 83v level remaining, I don't know how much more I would get out of this 83v but for sure not 93 and I didn't even rode it very fast. At least I didn't get any beeps at 37mph so definitely there is a room for more speed..
@@ThePawel36 I see. A direct comparison would be hard without riding the same trails I did to reach 90+ miles. On those trails for example I can get 60 miles on my nikola 2700wh but I can also get as low as 40 on the nik if Im really hammering it everywhere. At 83v you still had some room. I took my Commander down to 79v before low voltage beeps riding at 25mph. A tiltback occurs when you get really low but I didnt reach that. There are tons of factors that play into getting good range. My range test area is a 40 mile bike trail loop without any lights to stop at or big hills to deal with. Its the trail I just did a video on. Most of my range test would have been around 25mph so not slow but not pushing it to top ends. Speedyfeet gets horrible range on all his tests. Sometimes he'll get like half of what others do on the same exact wheel. Just shows you that its never a 1 to 1 comparison.
@@CrunchyTire That is funny because I also have Nikola+ but 1800Wh version. Ride it every single day, commute to work. :) Commander, on the other hand, only for long trips. Soon I will do another range test, hope to get at least 80miles out of it, minimum. Like you say, have to keep speed of around 25 mph. I think HS should get similar range as HT when keeping medium speed , because why not? I'm curious what is your average energy consumption on Commander so far? Mine is 55wh/mile , let me know , thx!
It is even bigger, EUC World report 63Wh/ mile , 55 was my last 53 mile trip. 3600 Wh/ 62Wh would theoretically give me a range of less than 60 miles :( not good.
U could wait for a month or two and get commander pro. It will sell cheaper then Sherman S for sure.
This was $2200. For a long range wheel i wanted something simple not with suspension and more things that are prone to break when you're riding long distances away from home. I don't always need the latest and greatest and I didn't learn on suspension so it's not crucial for me to enjoy riding. But the price is the big factor here.
Dude love the 3d print covers do you have a link?
I'll try to add the links to my description if youtube lets me. if you go to thingiverse and search for "commander EUC" you will find them. Definitely worth printing them. I used TPU.
yep I was able to add the links.
I've been so tempted to buy one of those from alien ride, that sale price is AMAZING on it!!! Solid reviews on it, sounds like an awesome wheel if you mainly want long range, nice ride and really good rain and dust protection.
Its been great so far. The range is amazing. Top speed is not that great lol but its the torque model. I cant wait till the weather warms up and I can put some big miles on it. In my range test over a week I got 91 miles in cold weather before I had to recharge. I wasn't really taking it easy either, with a top speed of about 35-37mph I was doing 25-30mph for most of my ride.
Could you put a link to the stand n 3d print stuff?
Just added them to the description😀
Why did it have a handle designed like the Sherman?
Well its basically a sherman clone with more torque and bigger battery. Basically on par with the sherman max. When this first came out was when all the shermans were sold out and going for a high used price, so it filled that void for a time. Obviously it didn't sell well which is why the sale price was almost 50% off. For $2200 its a freaking steal for 3600wh battery lol. Definitely wouldn't buy one for $4000, but I wouldn't pay that for a sherman either.
Did you print your stand in ABS? My Begode Pads I used on my 16X, not confusing at all :-) Noticed it came with the off road tyre, my Master came the same way, I prefer a street tyre really, but we will see. I printed handles for the Master (ABS), don't use the centre one, to carry the wheel, you will break it. You need to print a new footstand for the Master as well (Thingiverse) those two rubber ones it comes with are rubbish.
I used TPU for the stands on the table. I've since installed the pilot street 2 tire on commander and the master. Im liking that tire but it stays VERY upright. When I got on my RS with the knobby after riding on the pilot tires for a while, the knobbys feel like they want to flop over left and right. They feel so much different lol. Yea I printed the thingiverse stand for my master as well. As far as master lift points, I also bought the clarkpads fairing system on my master, which creates a lift point under the headlight. So I grab there and on the kickstand to lift it. With those you can lift chest height and carry up the stairs without banging your knees. Its heavy but doable.
The white stand under the RS is from clarkpads. The black commander pieces on the table are from thingiverse and TPU.
I have the new controller board installed and the wheel is working again!
Awesome, been looking everywhere for someone with the same problem I’m having with my master, now that I know what’s wrong hopefully mine gets rolling again
@@jasonvandenberg9055 Hi lol I just checked your channel and saw your video. Are you under warranty or do you have to buy one yourself? If you are going to buy one straight up, check out ewheels, they had some in stock when I was searching.

How you like it ?
Its been great so far. It handles really well. I like how the weight feels low and balanced. Once the weather dries up I'll be taking it to the mountain bike trails near my house.
How does it compare to the v12ht power and handling wise? I have the v12
@@ka0tic. They're pretty similar in terms of power. Handling is a lot different because the V12 are top heavy and the RS has the weight low down.. One is not an upgrade over the other. If a person had neither I would tell them to ride both and see which one feels better to them.
What this does is makes the numbers readable under direct light. Without the tint sheet, the segments around the lit leds will light up and make your numbers unreadable, meaning you cant read your MPH while riding.
except the 2nd time the light didnt go directly over it like in the first, barely went on the bottom.
So you think Im lying about it making a difference? Its massive. Would you like me to upload another clip of it more directly? lol I can do that. I was holding the camera with one hand the light with the other. Thats just how it lined up. Just for you, I will go shine a light directly on that screen!
@@CrunchyTire do it
@@warschauersauce Processing the video now
What you need to look for is the segments around the lit LEDs. Look at the 00's in this video when the light is on them. they look like 8's and you cant even read the mileage. But on the second video you will see that you can still make out the 00's and you can fully read the mileage. It is still processing but should be done any minute
@@CrunchyTire ah I see, I was so focused on the huge numbers and the inconsistency, cool.
The Tint Stickers I used are called "Flancci Light Dimming Stickers" on amazon. About $8 for a couple sheets you can cut to size. Its working great.
Thank you for reminding me to baby my wheel. These wheels are not durable at all despite spending enough to buy a car. Took mine to a skatepark yesterday and decided to chill out after a few runs up and down some ramps. For instance, the tail light costs $50 but it's on $3 of material.
That is true, but Im not spending $3k just to baby it. And my taillight was broken right out of the shipping box lol. Retailer sent me a new one. If you buy with a warranty you trust then its not so bad. But you're right they are fragile. Without the clarkpad system I wouldn't even ride my wheel with the batteries exposed like that. Think of it like a glass cannon in video games. Its a beast until it gets hit 😆
When you find a good used car for 3500 bucks let me know.
@@CrunchyTire 100% Glass cannon.
Why do all these new wheels have so many problems?
Hard to say, Lots of reasons probably. But whether its the S22, The Master, or whatever new wheel you get, It will some of the best miles you've ridden on an EUC before it goes down. 😆 . Was it worth it? Yes, yes it was.. The biggest downside is just the wait for the retailer to get my part shipped from china. Taking it apart and learning about how it works is interesting to me. If you aren't buying from a US retailer with warranty, I would absolutely advise against any new wheel. Thanks for the comment!😀
@Begodecrashtestdummy Yeah thats true. The master pro is great. I'll be considering it when Im ready to buy a long range wheel next summer.. I have a Molicel RS HT coming from ewheels tomorrow. 😃 I bought a new tire for my master too. Shinko 244. I like the stock tire but I figured its a great time to do it since Im not riding the master now anyway.
@Begodecrashtestdummy West Coast, Oregon.
It's all a crap shoot it seems.
@Begodecrashtestdummy I will have two C-186s in a couple of days. They are virtually new. I am swapping them out for incoming tires about to arrive. I live in connecticut, if you are still interested in these let me know before I put them on ebay.
I think It’s because you went up stairs
Yes that is what caused it but these wheels can handle that, it is not too much for the master. You can put way more load on the motor doing heavy off road riding. What likely happened was there was a weaker component on my board and this exposed it. Better here than doing high speed down the street.
The stronger headlight and the battery redundancies are two good V2 improvements, but I think Begode took a small step back with the motherboard. Sorry about your fall, that sucks.
Yeah hopefully it's a one off issue with the board and not a common problem... I guess we'll see
Killed my master the same way just today, wheel is hard to turn and feels seized. Cut out on the first step, and usually i can go up a 7 set no problem
@@azn8ball oh damn that sucks. If its a little tighter than usual but still rotates semi freely, then its likely your motor wires shorting through the controller board. I would describe mine as "chunky" feeling, like it would roll smooth for a second then seize a bit, rotate, etc. If the wheel is fully locked up(seized) and wont roll, it may be something with the motor. My other master video shows how the wheel reacts if it is the controller. And if you remove the controller the wheel should completely free up and spin normally. I haven't received my new board yet.
I have the exact same master and same exact pads (crazy coincidence). What battery configuration do you have?
Sounds like you made a great choice then 😆. Its the 50e and batch 2 so it can run on 2 packs. I tested all the packs and they're fine. I did have a hard time choosing 50e over the high discharge but range is a problem on the masters so Im glad with my choice. Im getting an RS HT with molicel to test those high discharge packs for myself.
@@CrunchyTire We got the same battery packs too 😂 Only difference is I got the V1 50e. Got me nervous with that cutout. Is the wheel still okay? I'm trying to push the top speeds and cutting out is scary to think about since I don't rife with pads much
@@firstlast9813 Just some scratches on the pedal hangers and pedals. Could have been worse without the clark pads/fairings. I'll be worried about cutouts too when I get back on the master so I understand you there. But I saw people ride the masters really hard in california and they held up great. Way harder than Im riding it on the stairs lol. The master is the wheel to beat in 2022. Nothing can compete with it. All the wheels have some lingering issue it seems, at least you got the best one lol. I took my V12 HS and even that was blowing past Shermans and S22s, overheating exns and dead battery RS'es. The only wheel that stomped me consistently and with ease was the Master.. The V12 is a beast too, it doesnt get enough credit. Me and this other guy were the only 2 V12s and we were both tearing up the off road hills lol. But the master was a different league.
Going up stairs like that is an insane amount of stress for any vehicle.
I do understand the jostle and heavy acceleration and then stop and heavy acceleration back-and-forth is hard on them but this is a big massive powerful machine so this does not give me a ton of faith if I'm being honest
Lol just to be clear I'm not arguing with you you are right but I but I think it can handle it I think mine just had an issue And this exposed it
@@CrunchyTire yea, it probably should have beeped at you and limited the amps before blowing. Begode seems to not have many limits. I need to figure out how to set limits on my master. Especially coming from a 16x

Stop doing stairs guys. Or jumps and all. Take care of your wheel instead -__-
I do take care of my wheels and the master should have been able to handle this.
And this could actually be a good thing because just 10 minutes ago minutes ago before this I was doing 43 miles an hour down the road and if I cut out then it would be much worse. So if there was any weak point in my wheel and this discovered it that's actually a good thing. The amount of force I put on the wheel here is not that extreme compared to going up a steep hill with rocks or any other type of hard riding. These stairs were not that steep or intense
Man I just got back from Martys California EUC tour and seeing what those guys were doing on their masters makes this look like Im jumping into a marshmellow pit.
