Why Blender 3.5 add good assets for hair but without the simulation, watafak
That is a huge deal breaker for me. I simply use the new hair system to style and then convert to particles for access to real hair dynamics. What a shame because with the new hair system you can get decent results with minimal effort.

@@sabinami When you’re done styling the hair with new new system, make a copy for backup and apply all modifiers on the original curve, from top to bottom. With the hair curve selected, go to the top toolbar and select Object, scroll down to Convert>Particle System. The curves will be converted to the Blender Particle System with native support for hair dynamics. Select the emitter object and edit the particles. Note that I am using Blender 3.5 but the procedure is probably the same on newer versions.

Curve objects can be used as guides in a Hair Curves object. Since Curve objects can be posed/animated with shape keys and armature bones, this can also carry over to Hair Curves, with the right setup.
