This might be old news at this point - my Mini 3 does broadcast remote ID, but there are some caveats. The iOS iPhone scanners don't work well because iOS limits the apps ability to use the WiFi and Bluetooth interfaces. I loaded the app Drone Tag (aka: a "Karen app" 🤣on an old Android tablet and it works great. Another caveat is the Mini 3 and Pro won't broadcast Remote ID with the stock 2453 mAh battery installed because the drone is under 249 grams and doesn't require RID (yet). But when I install the larger and heavier Intelligent Flight Battery Plus (3850 mAh) in the Mini 3 the drone DOES broadcast RID as it should because the drone is over 250 grams with that battery installed. I'm running firmware 1.00.05 on the drone and 1.03.16 on the RC controller. So we're safe from Karens that use iPhones, or if you're using the stock battery. But be vigilant for Karens with Android phones if you're flying with the larger battery.

I have a DJI MIni 3 Pro and updated the firmware and I get the same results as you using my drone scanner app in iOS. My Holy Stone RID module is detected though - although very poorly. Some people say that you need an Android for Drone Scanner to work correctly. The internal DJI software says that my Remote ID is normal. Still puzzled

Not everyone has open land like you seem to have so in your situation no it doesnt look like you need it. I am currently experiencing a drone that has been harrassing us so I've had to learn on rules and regulations for these things to see what I can or can't do and let me say trying to track these things is not easy so having remote id will help to at least be able to report the culprit.

It doesn't broadcast Remote ID with the 249 gram battery but does with the larger batteries. So I'm confused about if it's legal to fly at all without the 107.

You have to go into settings after uodating the controller firmware. It is on the mini 3 pro unfortunately

Is there any function to drop a pin on the map? So for example if a faemer had a fence and wanted to see if it needed repair and then locate and save the locations that need new fence posts

There is no app that works. Remote Id is always on even on the mini 3 pro . Under 250g has nothing to do with it. They still want to know where the drone is and where your at.

Hi, how do I know if my dji air 2 has RID

Happily, RID may be pushed back by a few more months. Continue to enjoy your Air 2! I will be enjoying mine. Hopefully, DJI will release that firmware with RID so we don't have to buy the device!!

Rules are different depending on where you live. The Mini 3 Pro has Remote ID built-in, regardless of it's sub 250g weight, because flyers in other countries may still need it.
