THANK YOU!! I was able to pay for the SHRM learning system through my employer. My company covered the cost 100%, and I owed nothing out of pocket. However, I used a number of free materials as well - Quizlet is my personal favorite! I really enjoy the flashcards and practice quizzes available when you make a free account. There are limited capabilities available on Quizlet without an account, but I've found it much more helpful with one. Best of luck! Let me know if you have any more questions 💙

Quizlet (www.quizlet.com) has a variety of free quizzes and tests that are created by independent creators. You can type anything into the search bar, from biology to SHRM content, and quizzes and flash cards will be shared that are relevant to whatever you are learning about. I used quizzes from a number of Quizlet creators throughout my studying! The SHRM learning system can be found at www.shrm.org/credentials/certification/exam-preparation/shrm-learning-system. It is EXPENSIVE, but if you think it would be valuable to you, I would recommend it. If my employer was not covering the cost for me, I'm unsure if I would have purchased it on my own, especially since there are a variety of other options available that also have SHRM style questions from previous years for less money.

Thank you!! I used the HRCI learning system they have specifically for the PHR. It was about $449 for non-HRCI members, and they offered a discount for HRCI members. I was able to submit the cost of the exam prep system and the cost of the exam itself for reimbursement, so if you're considering purchasing a learning system, I highly recommend checking to see if you can be reimbursed. Yes! My boss actually has her SHRM-CP, and she was the one I was looking to the most for guidance about next steps in my career. I'm studying now for the PHR exam though, and I'm taking it at the end of the month!

Yes!! Some companies cover the cost of the test (or reimburse you if you send your receipt over to payroll), some give you a bonus or a pay bump after you pass, some do both. It is a good chunk of money, so even if it's not posted anywhere or being talked about, it is absolutely worth asking your boss, payroll department or learning and development team about!!

Right?! I was in such a rush to answer, and I was almost completely sure I had failed the exam so badly. I was SO RELIEVED when the little "PASSED" appeared on the next screen 😭

Yes!! So glad to see you making the first step. Are you thinking about taking the CP or the SCP exam? When are you planning on sitting for the test?

@@ShirleySHRM CP! & second test window some time in December. I work in Commercial Benefits now and really want an HR career. Everything is so expensive from the test to the study materials, hoping to find an assistant HR job that will eventually pay for all of this, but I want to study in the meantime. If I don’t find an employer that will pay for it I’ll just do it myself.
