As others have commented: (1) you dont need to remove the alternator; (2) squirt motor oil or penetrating oil into the holes in the alternator body, onto the internal wire coils known as a rotor, thats the part which is likey seized (not the pully or bearings); (3) give the the oil a few hours to days to soak in and break up the corrosion; (4) periodically give the alternator light taps with a hammer to help the oil loosen things up; (5) use a breaker bar on the alt pulley nut to see if the pulley will starts turning, slowly, in each direction; (6) if the pulley bolt starts coming off, then go ahead and take it off and lube the bearings inside the pulley housing; (7) re-attach the pulley by retightening the nut and then try rotating the pulley with a big channel-lock pliers or plumber's wrench, using cardboard to pad the pulley to prevent damage to the pulley ridges and rims.
👌
Put it right in it . Tolerances are tight inside that’s why they freeze up . Pour oil right inside it won’t hurt it
Hi. ᴋɪᴛɴᴇ ʀᴜᴩᴀyᴇ ᴋɪ ʜᴀɪ
You put the oil substance into the holes of the alternator. Not on the nut. I run a junkyard woth over 1000 vehicles and do this on a weekly basis. Drench it in oil of any kind even old burnt motor oil or wd40 etc but not on the nut or pulley. It's seized internal
Just a matter of time before he kills somebody.
thank you for this video, It let me know how to move my round bales around without killing myself. much appreciated.
Momma did a great job pulling fur!
I have been watching your series (all 10 videos to this point) and just wanted to point out how well done these are! Our maple syrup season ended weeks ago but I'm living vicariously through your (past) approach to this awesome hobby. I also must say, if I hadn't been making maple syrup for years already, this would be a PERFECT guide to the process. Cheers!
Booo
If you ever chain up like you did in the mud you are so screwed. Latch to the outside, hook on the inside.
Tear that Goddamn flap off
Great video man,I needed to hear it from a homesteader. I just took a crescent wrench and some wd40 to my alternator, and now I got it turning like it was made to turn thanks a bunch!!!
You have good help.
Yes I do have good help and thank you for watching
all cool, except you clipped your tags off the wire and left them on the ground. Next video: 'How to plug an aggravating slow-leak'.
My son did mention that after the video so we did get a magnet and pick them up but, I wasn’t even thinking about it. Thanks for watching our video.

Great syrup videos, Bill! Love em...learning alot. New subscriber here in Ohio.
Bruh, never tighten one side completely before you do the other bolt. You snug one side then the other before you torque (tighten) them. Gee whiz.
exactly my thoughts
Thanks for taking the time to do this but......m8. there is a reason the bolts didn't line up. It didn't need to be sanding or hammered on with a pair of channel locks (next time a block of wood or rubber mallet would do a better job). You were jammed up on that cable housing behind the alternator, which would allow it to set properly. Just re-watch you video (8 min mark-ish) and look at the angle of the alternator. Take care
This video was ridiculous 😠
hey thanks dude
Seems to me, what you did could have been done without removing the alternator, just crank the pully.
How fun!
Lol, adorable.. I love goats.. got 7 of them...
Thanks for this. It was very helpful.
Awesome video...
i just put some insulation on my barrel stove door. got the 100 dollar roll of ceramic blanket from Smokey lake to line my new cooker. took welding rods to make a post, slid the insulation over/rod thru the insulation and found some clips from an insulation contractor that slide over the rod tight. Are you in WI?
Thanks for watching our video. Yes, we are in Wisconsin.
I love it, Aidan. I imagine Grandpa Ken watching this and I can hear him chuckle at your fast forwarded segments!
I recently ordered a BCS 853. I like your idea of duals for less compaction. Do you notice better traction with the extra rubber?
This video is awesome! I love seeing the calf try to stand and the information shared about Bella and her calf. I’m wondering what name you decided on?
Sasha is my suggestion. Congrats!!
Great video, Aidan!
Congratulations on the first My Fine Homestead heifer!!
Oh my goodness how beautiful!
May is my suggestion. Because she was born in may😂. Or Summer.
Hi Grace, thanks for your suggestions. We had decided upon Latte for Dusty's baby's name to keep with the coffee theme we fell into this season. (So first Rosemary had Thorn, then Apricot had Cappuccino & Mocha, Willow had Shadow -winner of the name poll we did on FB, and now Dusty with Latte.) But we like the name Summer so much, we are going to use it for our goat Cloud's kid born a couple days after Latte. Thanks again!
where did you get ur Honda transfer pump 1 inch hose ... looks very nice to work with ....the stuff I bought way to stiff?
I got it from a place called Parts Dept. You can look them up online. The one I have is a 7/8 inch silicone tubing which stays flexible below freezing. Let me know if you have more questions.
Looks Like FUN!
What are you breeding them for? So cute😍
Yes, baby bunnies sure are adorable. We breed them for pets, showing, and meat.
How come you don't just draw off from the finish pan? They use butter bacon fat or coffee creamer(non dairy) for foaming over. Never heard of a chemical being used.
Thanks for your questions. There are a couple reasons why I pour off a whole pan at a time. First - I only have a 3/4 inch tube coming out of the pans on my homemade evaporator so it doesn't draw off very fast. When it reaches the correct brix, I don't want any of it to evaporate longer while I'm slowly drawing off. Most commercial evaporators have about 1-1/2 inch outlets and can draw off faster than I can. And second I've found that rotating the pans helps prevent syrup/sugar sand from building up in the bottom so the pans stay cleaner. Doing it this way leaves me with a higher quality syrup than I'd otherwise end up with. As for foaming - I don't want to add any fats, oils, coffee creamers (Generic Non-Dairy Creamer (powder) Ingredients: Corn Syrup Solids, Partially Hydrogenated Soybean Oil, Sodium Caseinate (A Milk Derivative), Dipotassium Phosphate, Mono- And Diglycerides, Silicon Dioxide, Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate, Soy Lecithin, Artificial Flavor, Artificial Color.Oct 18, 2013 ) or defoamers (link= mapletrader.com/community/showthread.php?22316-Atmos-300K) because I want the syrup to be as pure as possible. Bill
I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to put together such a informative series. I am just getting into tapping and boiling as a hobby. I am going to steal some of your great ideas. Thanks again Jeff
Steal all you want :) We're happy some of our ideas helped. And be sure to subscribe so you can see future videos. Bill
Awe! Brings back so many memories! I'm thinking about having bunnies again! Possibly a chinchilla family here soon as I have a beautiful female, going to travel to hopefully purchase a male this weekend. Momma bunny is cute! She looks so proud! And the pure white bunny is my favorite! I want it!!! Awe congrats!! Your gonna have tons of bunnies before you know it!! Yay!
Aidan, this is awesome in so many ways!
So this is why your eggs taste so good!
Awesome video your teaching me alot about maple syrup! New sub here
Wow you got a great setup!
Thank you!
Nice set up. Following!
What state are you guys in?
Wisconsin.
My Fine Homestead cool, looked a lot like around here in Ohio
That's still a professional chain, Stihl color codes them, green is anti kickback, yellow is pro
Gee be careful with them! Why not let the mom in with her babies?
The Mom is in the tote with the nest box and her babies. By putting her and her babies in the tote, the barn cats can't eat them, and I can make sure Trixie gets enough high protein feed to produce ample milk for all her babies. Keep watching my videos to see their progress - I'm planning to post another video in a couple weeks when their eyes open, and they are even cuter!
My Fine Homestead Oh, okay I see. Yea we used to raise thousands of bunnies. We had new ones almost every week it was pretty awesome ! Till the coyotes and skunks took over. Almost overnight they all were completely gone. I miss it. Now I just have a chinchilla and it's not the same! I'll be looking forward to seeing the babies when they get older!
My Fine Homestead I really want to get some English Angora's or Lionhead bunnies!! Thinking of getting one next time at the state fair, I was too late last year to get one
