RMA Garage

Приєднався 24 жов 2019
RMA garage is a channel dedicated to making the viewer more knowledgeable about owning and operating dirt bikes in an urban environment. We live in suburbia with no place to ride so we have to pay for a membership to a local (1 hour away) ATV park. Our house is small and space is a premium. We believe that there are more of you out there that would love to ride dirt bikes but are not sure if you can do it.
We have also thrown in other helpful videos about our RV, autos and everyday how to for good measure. I use UA-cam on every project and I want to give back on things we have learned and where UA-cam lacks content.
If you like our content, please consider subscribing and enjoy the videos.

Thank you for doing this video, it was very helpful.
How did it hold up because I’m going to do this in the next couple days?
It has held up great and no odor in the RV. Thanks for the question.
@@RMAGarage that’s awesome. Please don’t take this the wrong way. I’m just glad to see a regular guy doing maintenance on there Rv like me. I watch a lot of UA-cam to fix things and it seems like they are paid actors.
I understand perfectly.
I have a 1.5 tdci manual fiesta. How many liters of transmission oil should I add?
I am not sure. We only know about the ST engine.
Just did my 2015 Santa Fe and it’s a little different no springs beneath the caliper
Glad you were able to get it done.
Find some steel caps and get a nut driver with a magnet in it.
Thanks is great idea. Thanks for the comment.
Hope you guys are still on line. You mentioned questions were submitted to your website. Is your website still active? We owned a Thor RS26 for 5 years. It is same length, but only one slide. It used a Ford E350 chassis and was blown around a lot. An aftermarket spring-loaded steering stabilizer helped some. Then we traded for a Coachmen Freelander 26DS which is cheaper version of your Leprechaun. It was based on the more common Ford E450, vs your Chevy. It handles like a dream compared to our old Thor, and I don't feel it needs any suspension upgrades. It even has a spare tire! But I want to thank you two for your videos. I looked high and low, trying to find where the fresh water drain was located. You were the first I found to show it <3
Thanks for the comment. I do not have a website just the UA-cam channel. Glad you enjoyed it.
Y un abrazo pa los que me tiraban de loco poco a poco va llenandose de agua el coco
so how do you know what size to use? obviously you don't want to damage the threads, and you want enough 'purchase' to have the tool grab on to to extract it.
There are direction that come with the kit that tell you suggested use, but it is just simply matching up the tool to the bolt. Once you use it once you get the hang of it.
Triple check that torque baby! Lol
Yes sir!!!!LOL!
I think the tire Ratchet hook must be positioned adjacent to fork. Otherwise the bike may fall off during travel.
That is correct. As a tip, we use a rag between the fork and ratchet so not to scratch the fork. Thanks for the comment.
I purchased this unit to buy a Honda 350 XL next week hopefully, and this video helped me work out some of the bugs in my brain as I was considering how I was going to do all this. Excellent explanations of every concern I had and a few extras I hadn't. The hitch pin is an absolute for me next time I hook up my camper trailer. always feeling this back and forth slopp going on.
Thanks for comment and glad it helped.
A bigger hammer would've probably made the job alot easier.
That is what my Father-in-law would say every time! Thanks for the comment.
Great review of an inferior built product. Horrible welds. Misaligned holes. Quality issues. A nightmare of an anti wobble component. Simple stuff that the company obviously does not want to correct. Nice video though.
I reluctantly agree. Still use it, still happy with it, but they need to update for sure. Thanks for the comment.
Hi Mark, I have the same make RV as you (2017 Leprechaun 260DS) and have watched all of your videos on the Leprechaun. I purchased my Leprechaun earlier this year and have used it numerous times. However, this past week was the first time that I tried to convert the dinette table to a bed. It was impossible to make the conversion from a table to a bed. The cushions and table top did not interlock properly. The table did not sit properly in the lips of the bench seats to make for a bed. Did you have this problem and what did you do to correct it? I saw in another thread for a different year/type of Leprechaun that they got a new sized table from Coachmen. (But, I can't find that link now...for some reason.) Thanks for any help that you can provide. --- Tim in Bel Air, MD.
Tim, Sorry for the late response....I have not had a problem with the conversion. Can you send me some photos (dirtbikedad48@gmail.com)? Maybe I can see something and help.
Always loosen the fill plug before draining the transmission so that you know you can refill it.
Not the first comment on this simple truth and it will not be the last! LOL! Thanks for the comment.
My leprechaun 260ds has 3 valves for draining the tanks Can you tell me why there is one on the passenger side ?What does it empty ? After a camping trip we drained both black and grey tanks but when we got home the gray tank monitor showed full any suggestions ??
The value on the passenger side is for the black tank. When you empty the black tank. you first open the driver side and then the passenger side. Once it is empty, close the passenger side first then the drivers side. The two valve system is so the pipe from passenger side to drivers side always remains empty. Not sure why other than weight. Hope I explained it enough. If not, let me know.
Could you explain to me why we should not pour oil in the center where the dipstick is located, thank you
Not sure exactly, that is what the directions so do do.
I have a very squeaky cab to overhead Thor 22E. I am going to open it up this weekend and see if I can fix it. Thanks for this video.
Let me know what you find.
@@RMAGarage All the self tapping screws on the driver’s side (from far left to the center) were either missing or sheared off. I assume that the missing screws had sheared off and fallen out (I found a couple). I replaced them all with larger screws and added about five more screws where the spacing between two screws was too large. I also added caulking to some uncaulked areas between the cab and the motorhome body. This cured the squeaking. Thanks again.
Glad it worked out for you. Thanks for the comment.
I have lost the paperwork for my motorhome it's a 2017 coachman leprechaun 260DS. Can you tell me why there is a grey holding tank lever on the passenger side under the bathroom ? Thanks PS Love your video they have lots of good information
The value on the passenger side is for the black tank. When you empty the black tank. you first open the driver side and then the passenger side. Once it is empty, close the passenger side first then the drivers side. The two valve system is so the pipe from passenger side to drivers side always remains empty. Not sure why other than weight. @@RMAGarage Thank you !!
i gotta fully built 212 on my mini and the scrub brake is barely enough to keep it from inching forward when it gets hot def gonna do this
My son just purchased a mini bike with a 212 and it has a disk brake. I can see why. Lots of power.
@@RMAGarage yea especially w the billet piston cam and heavier valve springs they rip
Thanks for the video. I need to hire you to fix ours. We live just north of Pittsburgh. I noticed your shirt. Go buccos
Sorry for the delay, My messages with not notifying me. If you want help pm me at (dirtbikedad48@gmail.com). I live 45 min from Pittsburgh.
PS 3/8" dianeter hose would prob work better then the 1/2" they recommend in the video 👍
Thanks for the tip.
Just need to smack tab with hammer. No need to drill it out. Cool foremost frame from jc pennys
Thanks for the comment.
When you add the extension, does that give you more bounce in the back?
Thanks for the question. It does not add more bounce. I do want to point out though the rack is very beefy and has held together very well. It is important to get an RV approved Rack.
Does anybody knows if this fit a Honda gc160?
I do not know..........anyone know?
@@RMAGarageI think so it has two bolts on top.
Thank you! Great instructions. The only thing that would make this better is to create another video showing how you install the cover that was rolled up this way. 😊
Great suggestion! Stay tuned.
That flimsy little foam seal is entirely inadequate, your cabover attachment was poorly designed, poorly constructed, and the installation was poorly implemented. It should be mounted with bolts, flat washers, lock-nuts, Loctite, and putty tape "rather than foam" for a secure water tight seal. And a nice clean bead of polyurethane RV sealant Around the exterior perimeter of the cabover attachment would provide additional protection.
Thanks for the comment. If I have to address this again, your repair is what I will do.
Thank you so much I’m all the way from the bayarea California I’m do this on my 2018 st
You're Welcome
I would rate that frame welding as poor.
When in doubt ''lock tight"
Absolutely!
what is that is that back brake thats is on the back tire called
Scrub Brake.
Why can't people use screwdrivers anymore? Its not that hard.
Guilty as charged!!!! LOL.
I hook my ramp on the bottom. it works out good for me.
Everyone has there own setup that works. That's the best part. thanks for the comment.
Did it come with lights or did you add the lights ?
It came with lights.
Hey thanks for the video! I have experienced the same and used smaller screws, only to get the squeak back again! Should have used the larger screws as you did, so I'm going to redo.. Seems whoever cuts the cab roof cuts too wide. Thanks again!
I agree about the cutting too wide. A little care and consideration would go along way by making better cuts. Thanks for the comment.
I'm switching from an oversized tank to a stock tank and the stock tank has a coupler to the front. Manual says it's a "fuel sending unit" but the coupler doesn't plug in to anywhere I can see, and I don't see one dangling off your bike. Think I'm going to just reconnect the two connections at the fuel pump and call it a day.
I just used one of these on my 2023 tx300 and oil sprayed out with the force of god. Kinda made me nervous why there's so much pressure to spray oil out, I guess we'll see if it leaks again on the next ride
There is probably excessive air build up in the shocks. Periodically unscrew the bleeder screw on top of the fork to purge the air out.
@RMAGarage that's what I figured after a bunch of oil sprayed out. Can't quite understand the physics of air somehow building up inside a sealed fork. Either way I definitely should have loosened the top little screw to purge the air.
Just to confirm is your generator is diesel? Or gasoline is looking like diesel on the cover
My generator is gasoline.
This is the best comprehensive video on fork service I have found. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Amazing, ive had mine apart for a while struggling to figure out how to put stuff back together lol.
Thanks for the comment.
Thank you for the video!
Glad it was helpful!
I wish I could have purchase that type rack, but I decided to do a carbon frame set and didn't really want the retention arms pressing against my frame. So question, have you noticed any rub marks on your carbon frame?
If I have a bike on the rack and I want to protect the frame, I just use a soft cloth or something that won't scratch the frame and place it between the arm and frame.
@@RMAGarage Yeah I could use a section of pool noodle or some soft cloth for sure. However I chose to not make that an option, so I attach/retain at the tires. That way I don't have anything that can scuff my frame. As for has anything scrapped my frame, the answer would be no. Also, I could have saved a ton of money if I had went your route.
@@gregchamberlain7554 Glad you were able to make an educated decision based on information presented. That is why I Love UA-cam. Good Info out there to ponder and know before you buy.
@@RMAGarage I can't say that I haven't used You Tube to get other user opinions before. However this wasn't one of those times. When I first saw those type of racks that you reviewed, honestly I had them on the lower ranks of something to consider for moving a bicycle. And there was no initial urgency, since I had a rack for the Specialized I owner at the time. Until I changed bicycles I had a Saris top tube styled rack, and it was only then I switched to a SystemSix that I look closer at how I would haul it around.
I'm finding a lot of posts on Fiesta forums showing the amount isn't a good recommendation from manufacturer. Many folks, including Whoosh Motorsports recommends a full 2 qts.
Thanks for the info, We will look into that.
I'm pretty sure I'm not the first one but you do realize that no you do not absolutely under any circumstances want to take the original break off because guess what if the chain breaks at high speed he has no break
Thanks for the comment. We left it on.
I feel your tire/ramp problem is your bike's long wheelbase. Can't change that. What you can do is bolt on two tabs at each end of the carrier that you can run a rod/bolt through to move the ramp's attachment point outward. Now you place and remove your ramp with ease.
Good Idea, Thanks for the comment.
Any tips on winterizing? You mentioned you forgot to do that with your previous washer.
Well.....I plan on keeping mine in the heated garage. My only idea would be to run some RV anti-freeze through the pump prior to storing. Not sure how I would do it but I would start there.
Part 1 and 2 of this is the best fork rebuild how to I’ve seen yet
Thanks, RMA Garage.
Nice, but... four straps on the front of the bike means they are all trying to pull the bike backward off the rack (as well as down into the wheel slots). You want the same kind of opposing tension front and back that you have side to side.
Good Point, Thanks for the comment.
The industry should have created a steel backer for the screws to go through. Would take no time with a hacksaw and welder to make. just sad all that bowing of the vans roof attached to the upper bed/overhang.
How much oil do you put in the 2015 yz250Fx with oil filter change in ml
.85 Liters or 850 ml is what the book says. I would also check the site glass just to make sure.
