Wish they could make shark bites for this.lol.can I glue a bigger piece on it or sonic weld?
"did you have a nice steak?", asks ryn.
Omg i CAN'T LISTEN to This.. voice type. It literally hurts.. (i gotta apologize to my English teachers in seance..😅😂)
Plastic is nothing new all Saturns are made of plastic. A lot of cars use plastic parts for cooling systems which is borderline retarded. At least it's replaceable part.
Mine has been doing this since I bought it That's probably why I had to put new transmission in it this year I was wanting to use sonic weld to build it up long enough to hook a hose to it have a plastic melter that sauders plastic take a old brake line put plastic around it to attach hose! Would that work?
Thanks for this video 😊😊
Let me tell you about that Saturn I had one 2001 SL2 I had to put two transmissions in that yes it would overheat I change the radiator the water pump on it and it was still overheating found out exactly what you said I needed to have the head redone and I said forget that I let the finance company come and get it
Did you have to remove the tension belt and the mount to loosen up the engine so you could move the engine forward?
Could the water pump and the thermastat housing cause over heating too?
Thank you for the great film. Do you happen know what is the name of that cloth in the area behind the intake manifold (~@2:06 - 2:19, 3:16 (behind the Throttle Body) it is a hole torn in it one can see)? And is it possible to replace it. I keep the engine bay in a good condition, but that cloth ..., it is so worn (we have 2001 Saturn SL2). I tried to find out even at Dealer, they don't know what it is. Most likely once it is installed you can't replace it. It is not essential of course, but would be good to do. You can buy a new Intake Manifold on Amazon for ~$250, yes it is all plastic. I need to remove and clean mine, since have a code P0446 (and it might be the issue), also on the mileage we have (~133Kmi) it should be done anyway. After your film I start to think maybe to have that extra new piece as they crack from heat so easily. maybe ours is cracked as well. Thank you again for the detailed film.
I know it's been 5 years but hopefully you got that thing in. A whole lot easier taking the motor mounts completely off setting it into the trance putting the two dowel pin transmission bolts in, putting the side mounts on and lowering it on to the engine mount pins
Saturn's 1999 and older used all aluminum throttle body with intake manifold and headers.
Thank you for the information, greatly appreciated.
I have the same problem I’m loosing coolant and getting a Misfire and I’ll change different parts nothing won’t get the check engine light out and I can’t pass in missions test I wonder if this is my problem
Thanks for the video. I think dorman makes a part that fixes that also. thanks for the info
