How to Make a Floating Vanity
When a good friend asks you to make something beautiful for them, you have to do it right. This vanity was built for a friends custom home near Asheville North Carolina. He wanted the illusion of a 8 inch thick slab of walnut to place a vessel sink, and didn’t want the plumbing showing underneath. Mission accomplished!
In this video, I show you step by step how to build it, even video of me shopping for the wood. When researching UA-cam on how to make this, I had trouble finding anything that would have helped me build this, so I decided to make a video on how to do it myself. I hope this gives you confidence to take a project on like this yourself.

Make a Sign Larger than your CNC
Переглядів 22 тис.3 роки тому
Make a sign larger than your CNC How? Tiling! I had to make a sign larger than my Shapeoko CNC XXL and couldn’t find any clear instructions on UA-cam…so…I made my own video. Here are step by step instructions on how to do it. I’ve included how to set up the program on Vcarve Desktop and how to prepare the wood. I’ve also shown you the mistakes I made so you don’t make them. Yes it’s a little lo...
Live Edge Mirror Build

Live Edge Mirror Build Here’s a way to make something beautiful from scrap cut off's from live edge wood. I didn’t have the heart to throw away these cut off's from a counter job I did for a local contractor about a year ago. Luckily there was enough wood to frame a mirror the size my wife wanted for the space in our entryway. As a bonus, the mirror she bought was from a church thrift shop, so ...

Can you make money with a CNC machine? I make signs!
Переглядів 141 тис.3 роки тому
Can you make money with a CNC machine? Yes, I did go ahead and buy a Shapeoko CNC machine as a leap of faith…hoping and praying I would at least make enough money that my wife wouldn’t give me grief for the next six months. Should you buy a CNC Machine? Well…I did! In less than three months, I made well over $3,000 (at least that’s what I told her it would cost). In my video, I show you, step b...
Very good Sean Ireland
Thanks for all the tips!
Was that pressure treated or just regular?
Like the signs
Any idea if your cad program would work using Easel?
Great stuff Sir. You did well. I like the blue and white. I will be buying your pattern.
subscribed; solid presentation!
Thank you for sharing sir👍🍺 And thank you to the Mrs. for her understanding😊
Very nice. Will continue to see your videos. San Antonio, Texas
Beautiful work, how many hours to do these?
"I'm not telling you no, but for every dollar that you don't pay back, you won't get getting any." 😆
I was looking at making outdoor signs but am concerned about the life of the sign. Sign companies claim 2 -3 years is not acceptable. I saw you mentioned 1.5 years so far. Any thoughts about life expectancy and what is acceptable?
Was wondering if you still make these? Searched on Etsy and couldn’t find one
What happened to this project? I can find no further reference to the build.
Thank you for share your experience, it is very usefull
Great job they turned out looking nice. Thanks for sharing your work.
Did u ever finish it
Looks Great!
Absolutely beautiful work! And your detail and craftsmanship is marvelous!
Started out in the trades as a custom drywaller and would only work behind a few carpenters because it is so common for the General Contractor to want the drywaller to square up the framing with the finish. Framers grew to fear my straight-edge when they were done as I charged a buck a minute (Good money in the 80's) to correct their framing. Your drywaller appeared to be a step above tract for sure, you had no problem getting past the metal, this was one spectacular, beautiful, project.
Such thorough explanation of the smallest of details. Thank you, your piece was built with such beauty.
I would do all cuts at one time a lot faster but good job
Beautiful job. Thank you
It's etsy not esty. Also in woodworking terms it's 8 Quarter.
Gorgeous
You going to finish or what ?????? 2 years between videos is way too long !!!!🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
"Wife said no, I bought it anyway" behold, a man with balls that produce testosterone.
What are the rolls of masking tape called
Which Shapeoko CNC machine did you buy? Thanks for sharing. I'm 81 years old.
Me too. I wanted to make one, or have one made for me here in Bali with all the good wood workers. but better to buy one from you. it looks like a great board.
Good Job ! Also thank you for not underpricing your work. $450 is a good price for that sign.
Your content was excellent, but the audio was terrible. Please buy a lavalier mic.
Thanks, you did help me.
Huuuuuyyyyyyyyyyyyiiii mis respetos usted si q es el Armero que se necesita en Colombia
Is there a followup video #2 ??
Very nice. Looking at your Etsy file and glad you put link here. I think I want my board to fold. Would think it will be easy enough to modify your file if I buy it..
This was very good. I have watched other vids but they didn't explain things this well.
Great job! It would have been nice if you could cut the board in half then by adding couple of hinges making it possible that the board becomes a box so the dices and stones can be carried in it. Well done!
I would like to know if there are any jig/s that I can manually cut the isosceles triangles!
Fantastic job.
The dream killer also known as a wife. You young guys that want to get married and think you'll be living the dream, well think again. Sell you car. Sell your clubs. Sell your fishing rod and just settle in and play the ring game. Thanks for showing us the process you do to make those signs. I'm in the market for a cnc. I was curious when you were rotating that triangle, I couldn't see an area where you could enter a degree instead of moving it with the mouse.
A bargain at twice that price.
Great and useful tool. Going to make some of those.
i have owned a Shapeoko for about 6 years and have made several address signs. Your video was a great help and has convinced me to get back into signs after a two-year hiatus. I had been using Inkscape but the Vetric software looks more direct from design to ready to carve. Thanks
That is absolutely gorgeous!
So, I need $100,000 machines to make a backgammon board? I just bought two trays and couple of hinges, done,
Very nice signs!
Nice to see someone of your age embracing this amazing technology and doing a damn good job with it. The signs look amazing. I'm building a hobby CNC and soaking up ideas. Was nice to see both sides of the actual cutting and your sincerity has earned you a rare sub from me :)
Good tutorial for beginners on a lot of different topics. Thank you.
Did you video the progression? I can’t find the other videos
Beautiful result. Subscribed
