Aloha from Texas. Thank you so much for the video. I believe i drove that same trip from the Kapalua Airport to Lahaina when I first got there. First time ever to Hawaii, and I was nothing short of in love with the 4 days I was there. I was so saddened to find out about the fire. I was there just 3 months prior. So blessed to have seen Lahaina in it's beauty before the event. Prayers to everyone affected.

Thanks much for this video. We have so many wonderful memories of our visits to Maui and Lahaina, where we would go for dinner and walk around after a busy day exploring the island. This video brings tears to my eyes of what so many people living there went through, the lives lost, the injured and the homes and livelihoods gone. Our government needs to step up and help the victims of this fire ASAP and the thoughtless and greedy developers going after properties need to be kicked off the island and leave the people alone that lost their houses.

Looked for this after the fires. Found passion fruit off the tree while visiting with my family when I was a kid. Great memories that make the fires now so much more sad. Thank you for the memories, I think Maui is going to change for the worse after the smoke clears. I hope I’m wrong….

I keep watching these "before" videos of Lahaina town thinking some day I will go and stay for a few days and enjoy the sights and sounds. But it's impossible now. Not in my lifetime. So sad.

I was enchanted from with Maui from my first visit there in 1989! Trying to convince my family to go there real soon, again to help the local economy, in our own small way! Thanks for posting! I really like Ulua beach, and upcountry! Your fine video just inspired me to look at my stash (I found three unopened bottles) of Raspberry wine from the Maui Winery (formerly Tedeschi), that is to broken out for ONLY very, very, very special occasions!!!
